「We had a great experience at the Stay Inn Ely. It was clean and our room was nice. It’s conveniently close to down town Ely and has easy access parking. The kitchen was well equipped and had coffee to make every morning. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!」

「We stayed in the Chickadee cabin. It is a pretty new cabin and very nicely appointed kitchen. However, the description on Expedia is a bit off. It says it’s a “lake view” cabin. It is not. It’s a short walk to the lake. It also said it had a queen bed, but it has a queen bed in the bedroom plus a twin bunk bed in the hallway and two twin mattresses in the loft, so basically it can sleep six people. Two other cabins are basically the same layout. These are really nice cabins. Sparrow and Nuthatch...

「This seems like a newer hotel. It is not luxury, but it is clean, quiet, the rooms are spacious, and the beds were very comfortable (ESPECIALLY the pillows which weren't overstuffed monstrosities like many hotels have). There was tea/ coffee/ hot chocolate 24/7. The lobby isn't big, so if you were stuck in your room due to weather, you probably wouldn't go there, but I found the room large enough with lots of "tuck your luggage away" spaces, so it wouldn't feel too cramped if you were...

「The view was wonderful, and the staff was very helpful. There was a smoky odor in the room, either from the fireplaces in the other units or from the firepit outside. The floor plan of the bathroom in the third-floor room was odd. The open door blocked the sink. We had a little trouble figuring out the A/C controls, so the room was a little too warm. We greatly appreciated the free EV charging stations. They were never ICEd while we were there. We underestimated how tiring the 32 stair steps...

「Excellent stay in a cozy, but well appointed ground floor room which overlooked the lake. Clean bathroom & comfortable bed. As others have said every footstep can be heard from the above rooms, but this did not spoil our stay. View to the lake in the lower rooms is obscured by trees.」

「The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It worked out well for us as we did a day trip to the Gunflint Trail and a day of hiking, biking and we did the guided kayak trip included with the room. We had a lower-level room (506). It had a river view with a lot of trees in front so an upper-level room would have a better view. The room also had a kitchenette, but really just a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and sink. There were no dish towels or dish soap and only 2 small...
