The property had no running water in my room no towels desk manager did not have my reservation no wifi main lobby had 1 single light on air conditioner was minimal at best. I had reserved for 2 days but left after 1 day
This hotel was a disappointment.
The shower water is not hot,do not use wifi,The door handle has broken in the shower room.Buffet breakfast was so-so.
Hotel were very old and not worth the price we paid.
We had booked a Junior Suite, and when we got there the room was probably not opened for a period of time and was stuffy. We had to request the hotel to change the room and they kindly gave us 2 inter-connecting rooms instead. Overall a decent trip but dinner service was poor, breakfast was fine. Ghana standards was good!
Apart from the delicious sea food, Hotel looked delapidated. Beach only had shingle and the tide was hide through out my stay so I couldnt swim. The pool was clean and pleasant.

We enjoyed our stay
My wife and I wanted to relax and found a place at Elmina Beach Resort.
I enjoyed it , just that basic things like tooth brush and paste could be added to the things in the room.

Solid Wi-Fi, Good Views, Friendly Staff
My first reaction to the outer appearance of Elmina Beach Resort, was that it was okay. Nothing breathtaking. When I entered the lobby, I was struck by the beauty of woodwork. The friendly staff checked me in (thank goodness I had my online Expedia reservation with me because one of my colleagues had an extended check-in period because he did not). As the porter and I walked the room, I was impressed with the ocean views. When I arrived to my very clean room, the stench of mildew was so strong, I had to ask the porter to turn on the air conditioner. After he left, I called the first desk to discuss how this could be remedied. After all, this place was my accommodations for the next three days. She assured me that she would send a member of housekeeping to the room to spruce up. The water was so comfortably hot that showered for at least 10 minutes. I went out with friends. On arrival back to the room, the room had been spruced up and a can of floral-smelling Raid was left behind. So, between the Raid and adequately-functioning air conditioner, the mildew odor was not overwhelming! So, the service was great. Each day the room was cleaned.
The overly-priced restaurant rates 6.5 out of 10.
Therefore, I would stay at the hotel again for several reasons: (1) Wi-Fi is very reliable; never dropped for three days during my usage of about four hours a day; (2) service; and (3) views, along with good HOT water.
Make reservations online, but take the confirmation with you.
Resort was old, not clean except the reception, poor food, poor swimming pool. Very expensive compared to surrounding much better resorts. Staff not capable in service. Never again
Although hotel staff were nice, the hotel looks like it's abandoned with no maintenance for many years. Sheets were full of stains and bugs, half of the chair/beds in the swimming pool where broken, there was a broken/old bath tub in the middle of the garden, all seems worn out and not repaired. Food wasn't good, with very little variety. It looked like a ghost hotel with guests on it. This is probably one of the most expensive hotels in the area, so definitely a disappointment.
Great Hotel- friendly staff. Most things about this hotel were stellar except for the terrible dinner food. Besides the instant diarrhea it was a hit. With that said, the breakfast was the best I had in Ghana. Wifi didn' work in my room but it worked in the lounge area which had mosquitos. Outdoor basketball+ tennis court and beautiful view of the ocean coast line. I have already recommended it to others and I will likely return (although I probably won't eat the dinner again. Good job overall.

Elmina Beach Resort Falls on Hard Times
This may once have been a grand hotel, but those days have long since past. It's now shabby and dilapidated. We were relegated to a room in the hotel's nether regions, with a balcony overlooking a parking lot. Both the phone and mini-fridge were broken and we had to go through an ordeal to get a second towel. A few of the staff were friendly and helpful, but the overall tone was unpleasant and sometimes surly. In short, a big disappointment. A porter told us that some of the rooms are being renovated, but the whole place needs work.
