"Nice place, but quite pricey for what you get. Maybe Ella is just a bit overpriced at this point… :) The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing!! Location was good a bit outside of the busy Ella town. Quiet and peaceful. Only negative thing was that the walls to our room were very thin so we had to use earplugs to sleep, but it was ok for us :)"

"We LOVE LOVE LOVED our stay here! The hostess made delicious Sri Lankan meals for us, cut a path down to the river so we could swim in the natural pool just minutes from the tree house, and the place is so unusual. We were in the treetops with LOADS of monkeys swinging around. We felt totally safe and well looked after."

"We had a lovely stay at Ella Retreat. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and included a fridge, kettle, little cooktop and kitchen sink which was handy. We had one of the best breakfasts of our trip here - it was delicious and very generous with portions, with lots of options to choose from. Just look out for the monkeys who might pay you a visit with an eye for your food! Complimentary archery was fun, and we loved the rustic charm of the place. Please note that you can not park at the accommodation - they have a parking spot at the bottom of the hill and will cart you and your luggage up in a tuktuk (about a 5 min drive up a narrow, winding road)."
