「There is a large car park but it can get busy at peak times. Register your car at the bar. Our fourth visit in the last year. We like it. Staff, food, atmosphere and location. There are a few maintenance issues that could be addressed, e.g. dripping taps, shower door off runners and touch up of decor in places. We expect to return.」

「Really lovely stay. The room was spotless and exactly as we expected. Twin room with en suite shower and bath, situated above a tea room in Bonsall (approx. 5 minute drive from Matlock Bath). Decor was fresh and clean, bed warm and comfy and clothes storage more than adequate. Hospitality tray with hot drinks and biscuits and a selection of toiletries. The breakfast was outstanding. Amazing find and would highly recommend and definitely return.」

「The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. 「This was our third time staying at Mackworth House Farm and, as ever, Peter was the perfect host. The room was clean, tidy and spacious with a beautiful view of the garden. Check-in process was quick, and Peter was on hand to answer any questions we had. The breakfast options were plentiful, and there was a lovely pub a short distance away for evening meals/drinks. Can highly recommend for those wanting to stay in and around the Peak District.」
