「Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The cottage was clean, comfortable and homely and the gardens and animals were just delightful. We had our first stargazing opportunity here as bad weather had put pay to our plans in all dark sky areas. We had a wonderful and memorable experience at The Jolly Poacher.」

「Although the reception is not opened for 24 hours, the duty staffs were helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is a little bit far from the ferry terminal, it is still OK because Picton is safe even we needed to walk in the darkness between the terminal and the hotel. In addition, two supermarkets are not far away. I will choose this hotel again if I come back especially the room rate is reasonable. 」

My first night was unexpected—I needed an ambulance to the local hospital after a fall on the ferry—but the staff at Bay Vista were incredibly attentive throughout the whole ordeal. They checked on me during the ambulance visit and followed up the next day to make sure I was doing okay (four sutures along my hairline).
