The door did not lock, there was pubic hair on the bathroom. I blame hotels.com never book on hotels.com!! I ended up getting the worst room available because I booked there while the guest house was fully booked!why allow us to book when it’s fully book

Essenwood House is a CON !!!! How this property remains on Hotels.com ? Is an Absolute Mystery ..... The pictures are FAKE !! The (hotel) or rather the excuse for a hotel is ABSOLUTE 100% Nonsense !!! The proprietors are clearly fleecing the public with these images. Everything is Dirty,derelect and not fit for any guest. Not only is this bad for Hotels.com, but certainly a poor reflection on Durban.

I had a horrible experience with Essenwood House. I made a booking for one night and when my family member went to check in they were told there was no rooms available, even though I was charged the full amount. Furthermore Expedia and Essenwood House have refused to refund me. Expedia refuses to publish this review. They are trying to save themselves embarrassment. Pathetic

Disappointed

The accommodation was nothing like the pictures on the website. The bedding and furniture is outdated …driveway too steep . I had to extend my stay but moved to a different accommodation. Will not book this accommodation again.

Disappointment

The room I was checked into was not the one which was shown on the booking. I did the booking online, chose the room which I liked, view it online and paid for it. However when I got to the place I was shown a different room from the one I chose and I was told I'm supposed to pay almost double what I had paid online to get the room I viewed and chose online. Because it was late I ended paying and took the room. However the TV was not working either. I was also also not impressed with the breakfast. Just 3slices of bread, fried eggs and 1 cup of coffee only for R65.00. Simple things like a tomatoe was not available or at least some sources, nothing. I was really disappointed, I didn't expect that, especially because I was with my family.
