Great price and room for the weekend. Only 3 dedicated parking spaces out front and if they're taken you have to move your vehicle every 2 hours around the square because of parking restrictions. Stairs and passages are tidy but could do with an update. Overall happy with the establishment.

Great value hotel

Overall great value hotel. Free breakfast, lovely helpful staff, the decor is slightly dated but still very clean rooms and bedding. Would definitely recommend.

Powerful shower and hearty breakfast! Just the job

Excellent stay - spacious room, great shower! breakfast was 1st class with plenty of choice, helpful staff so all in all no probs would certainly use again.

Mediocre

Mediocre, you get what you pay for. Staff friendly and assertive. The place could do with a face lift it’s really basic, dated and run down in places. That being said had all basics and was comfortable. We stayed in room two. There’s a crack in the bottom left of window and the toilet seat was that old it was black. A new toilet seat really needs to be priority. All furnishings are dated, stair case carpet etc work right down. Due to how old the pub is you can hear everything from other guests. 3am doors slamming, up and down hall way and loos flushing etc. We found it handy that you could come and go as you please from building as we had a even in Edinburgh so wouldn’t get back until late. Breakfast was ok. Nothing special but good for the price and edible! We would stay again if it was just to sleep for one night but don’t think we could stay here longer than the one.
