With new COVID-19 safety guidelines to follow, travel looks a lot different these days. Here's what you need to know before you head off to Dogtooth Mountains:

• Find out the rules and restrictions in both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check in advance.
• You must wear a face mask at the airport, including at screening checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask for identification purposes when asked.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA employee. Rather, position the pass on the scanner and then hold it up for the agent to visually inspect it.
• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. You'll have to remove it for screening.
• To reduce handling during screening, put items such as your keys, wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you have for screening. Food items often trigger the alarm. Putting them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to touch and inspect your belongings.
