The staff were wonderful and the food was good. The facilities are poor - walkways are broken, my son fell through a wooden bridge that had rotted, the volleyball stake fell over rotten and wasn't repaired until my husband did it himself. The beds are terrible, very old and uncomfortable. No WiFi in the rooms, only in the reception/restaurant. The price is very high for what you get.
I think one has to get lucky with timing when staying here. In our case, bad weather, competitive surfing-oriented other guests, and some kind of GI virus or food poisoning (apparently some folks in the local village were sick, so maybe this was getting transmitted to guests? About one in three seemed to get sick for a half day or day) overlapped such that we had a mediocre stay. I think if circumstances had aligned differently, we might have had a delightful time. As it was, we managed one surf trip and zero snorkeling in three days. The resort is 3km down a semi-paved road that is passable but far enough afield that we weren’t inclined to leave. So I suggest budgeting to eat and do all your activities (if weather permits) there. For what it’s worth, the food was delicious (and we’re not sure whether it was the food or the ocean water quality after a rainstorm that made my partner sick).
Unbelievable property, beautiful, remote, quiet, very relaxing. Have the best activities at one location, surf, scuba, snorkeling, river boats, plus probably much more. Wish I stayed longer. Great Food, easy dining included if you want. I just paid separately and it worked fine, breakfast lunch and dinner are great, staff worked above and beyond to make you have a great experience. Super quiet. Is about 2 hours from Airport, so either get a rental like I did, or arrange for Transportation. Nothing around, so probably should of just went with drop off/pickup, had plans to go to Suva, about an hour away, never did. Surfed everday, they access Frigates, J’s, Shifties and other local Breaks. They offer Shark dives for Scuba, wish I was certified as this appeared to be a world class opportunity. Boatman are awesome, Surf guide Tim was great, as were Scuba Team. Really a world Class remote operation with a much better feel than “High End” Resorts. More personable and real. Exactly what I was hoping for. Room/Bure was awesome, clean, quiet. Not much of a beach, especially at Low tide. Really setup for day activities, surf or scuba or snorkel. Had wonderful Yoga with other travelers. Can’t wait to go back when surf is better.
My stay at Waidroka Bay Resort has been tremendous,so stoked. The staff has gone above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. The food,Captain’s,and staff have all treated me great.
We had an amazing stay at Waidroka. The staff is wonderful, food was good, and diving was fantastic. It is such a peaceful, lovely, eco-resort where you away from crowds and city noise. We didn't want to leave!
We loved our stay at Waidroka.
The resort has a strong community vibe and is welcoming to guests and their local neighbours. We received genuine and quality service from staff who were always helpful and knowledgeable of activities.
I almost don’t want to write a review because I want this hidden gem to remain a secret. The resort was amazing. Gourmet meals every day, world class surfing and diving, and yoga. We met other guests and they became like family. The resort employees remember your name. Tim the surf guide was extremely hospitable. Extremely knowledgeable and an amazing surfer. My family and I have been fortunate to travel to many places but this will be by far the most memorable experience. Thank you Waidroka!
This property is secluded away from it all. You are locked in to eat meals here as it would be a decent taxi ride to the nearest town. We were only here a couple of nights with a 4yr old. However the staff were so lovely very inclusive and welcoming. We were here on a Friday/Saturday night on the Saturday they had a traditional Fijian Kava ceremony which was an awesome experience. I’m GF so they made bread and wraps from scratch so very accommodating.
Amazing staff and great options for adventures. My husband had a few awesome surf trips, we all went to White sand beach for snorkelling and tried River tubing. The food was fresh, local and delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our kids enjoyed their meals and stay. We brought our 7, 4 and 2 year old kids, the staff were very open that they don’t have a lot of children of those ages but they made them feel so welcome and catered for their every needs.
My husband was in touch before we arrived to discuss our plans and they were always very accommodating.
We didn’t want to leave and would absolutely love to go back!
This small resort surrounded by intact rainforest is just what we wanted. The grounds and bure checked the box on a tropical feel. The chef made some very tasty dishes. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, answering all our questions and chatting with us. The best part for me was birding along the road that bisects the extensive tropical rainforest. We had planned on doing the shark dive but it was cancelled due to rough seas the evening before the scheduled dive. All the more reason to come back!
True Divers and Surfers Paradise
Warm, home like atmosphere. Amazing food.
Super clean! We’ll come back!
Thank you Waidroka family! Bula Vinaka!

Very expensive for what it offered.
1) at the end of a long rocky and dangerous road in the heavy rain.
2) no free Wifi.
3) no TV.
4) "continental breakfast" was an insult. Just the cheapest, poorest, bare minimal.
5) for a charge of about $312 Aus per night one would have expected a decent selection for breakfast.
6) We left early as the facilities were so poor and so lost a lot of money.
7) As a comparison a fully furnished two bedroom, two bathroom with two TV's dish washer, wash machine, all in excellent condition was $175 per night. ( which we moved in to).
8) Having to sign a disclaimer for staying there was also disturbing.
9) I THINK THE GREATEST INSULT WAS THE MARKETING WHICH INFERRED THAT ACCOMADATION AT THE RESORT WAS ALMOST FULLY BOOKED. IN FACT THERE WERE VERY FEW PEOPE THERE.
CONCLUSION;- Will not employ or recommend Wotif again.
I liked that the property was set back from the main road and has its own dock and boat access. The pool was kept very clean as was the resort grounds and common areas.
We didn't have the best weather during our stay, but the excellent staff at Waidroka really made a concerted effort to maximize our experience there. They were sincerely interested in our well-being, and went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. It's difficult to upstage the natural awesomeness of Fiji, but the staff at Waidroka managed it. Thank you!

Perfect place for your dive/surf adventure!! Full review on tripadvisor from username lovelife5366

dive and surf
I was told it was a fishing resort and snorkeling. Unfortuneately unless the tide is in there is only mud. no sand for 100 meters. there is no fishing equiptment or knowledge of fishing at the resort. What little equiptment there was,was in bad shape. The meals are set and I am a plain eater but could only manage very plain chicken or meat patty and there was pork two nights but these were the only meat available.Plenty of fish which I was told was great but I dont eat Fish. Very little vegetables and virtually no fruit the entire time we were there.
We were staying at Waidroka Bay Resort for a family holiday with 3 kids ranging in age from 9 - 14. It is definitely the ideal location for keen surfers and divers - The older two kids were able to go diving for the first time and this was the perfect place - the diving instructor was absolutely brilliant with them and the resort's pontoon in the lagoon provided a safe spot for their first open water dive, with lots of colourful fish to see. They both absolutely loved the experience and may well be hooked!
Most of the resort staff live in the surrounding villages and a part of the available activities are centred around local life and customs. It is also great to see the resort supporting the local community with their education trust.
The resort is secluded and private - a bit of a drive from the road. We had a car, which was great as it meant that we could easily head out and explore, but transport seemed to be readily available for those wanting to do some of the available excursions.
Staffs are friendly but this hotel is just far from everything. Transit to pacific habour cost fjd30 one way so you are stuck with them. 酒店距離pacific harbour大概有半小時車程,酒店就餐很難吃,而且全部都是3 course meal之類沒有選擇。潛水店也只有padi一星沒有選擇。
