The COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in major changes to how we travel. If you’re planning an escape to Espíritu Santo, these tips will help you navigate these new traveling challenges:
- Know what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so don’t forget to check government advisories before booking.
- You must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked by a TSA officer.
- Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer. Instead, place your pass on the scanner and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
- TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will need to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
- To minimize handling during the screening process, place items such as your phone, keys and wallet into your carry-on instead of the bins.
- Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on means it’s less likely a TSA agent will need to open your bag for inspection.
