Nice place!

Nice area. Great staff, quick to respond to problems. Bathroom was a bit of a safety hazard with raised area for commode & step down into shower, Lots of outside stairs for seniors, but overall, good place to stay.

Beware!

Beware! The unit advertised appeared to be on the water - the unit rented was not! The actual unit smelled like a dirty ashtray and was outdated and "shop worn." The resort fees are very high (note they are a separate, additional fee beyond your room rental!) Management claimed no other units were available and their only solution to the nasty odor was to have housekeeping spray the place down with an intensely sweet room freshener - yuck! No refund or fee reduction offered. We stayed at 3 properties during our Destin vacation - Sandpiper Cove was by far the most expensive and the most disappointing!

Stay was great. Everything from check in and assistance from Morgan was excellent. Some minor maintenance to the unit (as reported) and being able to get the TV to work would have it A#1.

We really enjoyed staying in the studio at Sandpiper Cove, very convenient to ocean and harbor. Grounds are immaculate, really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Very user friendly with a wide variety of options that patrons can take advantage of!

Lesson learned!!!

Initially I booked a studio. Big mistake! Had to upgrade with Sandpiper, loved it. The studio is a pull out bed n sofa bed. Everything smashed together. Upgraded to a one bedroom, bunk beds in separate area n living room had a sofa bed. We also had a full kitchen washer dryer the works.

It was a nice little condo for me and my fiancé. It was a short walk to the beach and close driving distance to resturants.

Sandpiper Cove was awesome! We had private beach access just a short walk away. The studio we had was spacious and very clean. I would definitely recommend Sandpiper Covered to anyone looking for a beautiful, quite place to stay.

Know what you are getting

This is not a hotel. This is a condo unit across a busy 4 lane road from the beach. The two beds Expedia said it had were a pull out couch and pull down Murphy bed. With them down, the only room left to move was the kitchenette (nice) and bathroom (small and dated). All making up of beds was up to us.no maid service ( not a hotel) The wifi did not work. I spent hours of my 72 hour 'vacation' dealing with that. Finally, 17 hours before we left, I sat for two hours with a repairman while he figured out there was no router. Finally fixed This was after several blood pressure raising telephone conversations with the typical cable type people telling you to unplug it and wait 10 minutes and then replug..........Oh, the smoke detector battery decided it was dying at 4:30 am Sunday morning and proceeded to beep mercilessly. The battery was not in the back. Finally got the battery out. So it took them 36 hours to get that safety feature fixed. And, when they came they fussed that I had taken the battery out. Like anyone could live with that beeping for 2 days! The beach was nice The taxes and fees on this place made it cost a third more.

Make sure and take extra towels!! Lots and lots to do in the area! We booked the same unit for our next trip this summer! Looking forward to going back.

Perfect location for what we needed.

Didn't have much to go on as far as reviews and we typically stay in a hotel when we visit, but took a chance on Sandpiper Cove. Overall we were impressed with the amenities, cleanliness, and proximity to everything Destin related. The private beach across the street was a huge plus. Will definitely stay there again!

Great location and neighborhood, awful bedroom

Worst bedroom ever. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE BED. Slept on the couch every night... Alone....Without my boyfriend when we tried to get away. Weird liquid oozing out of a closet by the kitchen... It never stopped and we never figured out what it was. Had to step over it everytime we walked thru the hallway. BIGGEST NEGATIVE- The bedroom was dreadful... As i said, the bed was terrible, no overhead lighting/ceiling fan, an awful color blue, and no tv ?!?! Miserable bedroom.

Best week of the beach in my life!

Everything about our trip was great. Take the water taxi everywhere! Restaurants, beaches, shopping, etc can all be reached by a water taxi. So cool. Jim on the boat was our BFF.

Nice hotel, bad bed

The location of the condo was great. It was nice to be able to walk to the beach. And the beach was beautiful. We also liked the fact that it was so well furnished. We did not use much of the kitchen, but know that there is a nice fridge, a good stove, useful microwave, and all what you could need for cooking. Now why the low review? There were a couple of things that were not that nice, and they really were deal breakers. First, there is a big window/door which has nothing but a curtain. Even though the glass seemed to have some kind of stain, we did not think the curtain offered much privacy. Second, (and it's getting worse as I go), there was a big step in the bathroom. I tripped on it a million times. Once I did as I was stepping back and if my husband wasn't close, I would have hit my head to the border of the bathtub. Very dangerous. And last and most disappointing: the bed. The bed was super uncomfortable. You felt first that your head were always higher than your head, and you are constantly falling to the middle. It's like the sides are WAY higher than the center. As days went by our back pain grew stronger. So even though we liked the location, and it was clean, and people were nice around... we would not stay there again. I don't plan (ever) to spend a lot of time in the hotel/room when I go on vacation. But I need to have a decent sleep. Last thing: we discovered an extra key to the apartment under the door mat outside, which could be seen without much effort.

"Condo-style" Hotel Very Close to Beach

This is a "condo-style" hotel as in you are on your own once you check-in. When we did have to interact with staff, they were friendly and helpful. Only negatives were the smell of the sewer near the front entrance, and the pull-out bed was terrible - completely uncomfortable. We fought about who had to sleep on it.

A ok!

Pretty darn good place. I stayed in unit 3214 with 2 grandchildren for 4 nights. Got a really great last minute deal. Booked through Holiday Isle properties. The description said canal condo with a pic of a condo on the canal. Well, no such luck. Called Holiday Isle the next morning because we got there after hours. They said I got what I booked. So I called hotels.com and they were told the same thing after calling them while I was on hold. What a let down. Couldn't afford a beach side condo and I figured at least this one was on the water! So that is my biggest gripe with this condo. Not sure who is to blame but Hotels.com is giving me a $50.00 credit towards my next room. The condo itself was great. A lot of extra touches you don't find in condo's. One thing I would like to make known is there is no room for food. It is so well stocked with dishes, I litterally had to take stuff out of a cabinet to put some food in and I just left the rest out on the counter. Every possible thing you could need in the kitchen and even some you don't will be found! A washer and dryer was a plus. That was a total surprise. Beds were very comfortable. Some kind of small table in the 2nd bedroom would have been nice. Most of the closet in that room was taken up by the furnace, vacuum cleaner and necessities. All in all at the price I got it for I would not hesitate to rent it again. Short walk or drive to beach.

Make sure you know what you are getting!

When we got to the unit, it was not what was advertised. It was supposed to have two beds - we took that to mean actual beds. It did not, it had a hide a bed and a sofa bed. It was very small and not well appointed or especially clean. Fortunately we were able to go to the agent where we got the keys a few blocks away and a much better condo was available, an actual two bedroom that was beautiful. We stayed there instead and loved it. Otherwise, the location is nice, the property very quiet with lots of amenities. Once we got a nice unit, we thoroughly enjoyed it!
