Take proof of payment for your room

Stay was ok , as to be expected from a budget hotel. As with all of them you get a comfortable bed and hot water for a shower. The male receptionist with a squeaky voice was a big disappointment as he insisted we had not paid for the room. We assured him we had. He ignored us and three times asked for payment. Eventually we showed him a payment made from our bank. With this he moved off his chair and looked in a pile of folders 2 foot away from him and found our reservation. No apology , he just continued to check us in. I don’t expect a lot from budget hotels , but this guy was so lazy , he couldn’t be bothered to look for our reservation until we showed him proof of payment.

Good for the price

We have stayed three times now over a two year period. It has gone from very new condition to quite used, but OK and clean. The room had an odour, probably a smoker had used it before but it went away with the window being left open. Our main issue was the WiFi. It did connect but the speed was not enough to stream TV. It was fine on our first visit so maybe this bedroom was too far away from the access point. Several chain restaurants within walking distance, decent restaurants would need a car journey. Overall good value for the money but we have had better for the same price
