Daughters wedding

Our daughter and son in law got married here on 13/05/17 . From the moment we arrived to the moment we left nothing was to much trouble. The staff were amazing and very friendley. The attention to detail was fantastic. Other family and friends that stayed had nothing but praise for the hotel and staff. Would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Worth staying for the evening meal

Have stayed here before, nice place, very relaxing and oh what an evening meal. It sure was worth the 450 mile round trip for the evening meal. Absolutely fabulous, see you again soon

Great Hotel

Receptionist was extremely pleasant and helpful, The room was clean, bed very comfortable. Over all a good experience for an overnight stay

be careful, they might not have your reservation!

Pre booked and paid for room 6 weeks prior to stay. Went to check in late at night, hotel was closed, the manager on duty told me they were fully booked and didn't have any evidence of my booking. Was made to feel like a fool. Hotels.com refunded room rate and gave a small amount of compensation. A shambles of a hotel.

Select your room carefully!

I left room at 7 pm and returned at 11:30 pm but I did one mistake I left window open as room was too hot and these rooms does not have fan or a/c, anyway when I return there was insects everywhere. After two days I am still itching my legs and arms. Saying all the staff was very kind and very professional and , good breakfast.

Good hotel close to my destination.

Arrived to find that the hotel was hosting a wedding reception and having previously stayed at other hotel that was hosting a wedding reception, they kindly tried to find us another hotel locally but was unsuccessful. They therefore located us in a room as far away from the evening wedding reception as possible and we were undisturbed. The management and staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was very good with good selection of cooked and continental breakfasts available. Would definitely stay again.

Great stay, highly recommended.

I stayed for two days, on business in Darwen, and I was very impressed with thhs hotel. First and foremost the staff were amazing. Friendly, helpful and totally genuine. The facilities for my needs were ideal: good food, ample parking, large, comfortable, clean room, wifi that was available throughout. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Four in a bed winner, certainly doesn't disappoint

Pleasant stay, staff were on the whole friendly and welcoming. Clean, quiet and good kerb appeal.

Last minute booking that was great value for money

Despite there being a party on, we heard nothing of the music and enjoyed the room. The staff were helpful and professional. Breakfast was good.

Nice hotel but check advertised bar prices

It was for a friend's wedding so we didnt get round the neighbourhood. The only thing that let it down was incorrect bar prices being advertised. I mentioned it both to the barman and the receptionist but wasn't offered a refund by either.

Darwen isn't the most exciting place

The hotel is set back from the main road and away from traffic noise. However the noise of aircon units all night did spoil a nights sleep. Breakfast was very nice but coffee by the cup was a little miserly and the waiter disappeared to serve at the reception desk so there was no one to ask for more.. Day two was better as there was a young waitress who appeared happy to supply more - by the cup. A pot of coffee is not too much to ask for is it?

Upon arrival at the hotel there was a wedding in progress and I could immediately see why someone would choose this hotel as their wedding venue.. The hotel is set back from the main road and it secluded in fabulous surroundings. It is elegant and traditional with the bar area and the executive rooms being fabulous. The staff were helpful and the hotel was great value for money. We had breakfast included as part of our stay and it was outstanding. If I'm ever in the area again i would almost certainly want to stay at the Whitehall hotel.
