This property is a beautiful, unique, gem of a lovely experience. The owner and his wife are wonderful hosts attending to all needs with grace and professionalism. Staff is great, and has been with them for a long time. The Chateau has such charm and beauty. Located right by the Aude river, you hear the river and birds. The location is close to many points of interests about Mary Magdalene, Templars, Bugarach mountain, lovely southern France countryside beauty. A must to see and experience. Find your way there.

This a an unique property that needs to be experienced. The place is a beautifully maintained castle right by the river. It has a wonderful energy about it, and the owners and staff are lovely, and respond to requests promptly. Great service. The restaurant is superb.

Historically pleasing and well maintained. The pictures of the pool somewhat misrepresent the size of the pool, and the breakfast is well over priced, but regardless our stay was enjoyable.

Amazing hotel, great place to relax and unwind.

Great place
Service was fantastic. Despite arriving after the kitchen had closed they went over and above to provide us with food after a long day out. Facilities are great with a lovely swimming pool and river for a dip.

Got upgraded to large, carpeted room that was a joy. great place, very helpful and dinner on site was from heaven. Should be Michelin starred if it isn't, at least 1 maybe 2, just superb food.

This is a wonderful hotel for families. My daughters and I stayed in a room with three singles in a loft and a double bed in the main room. The room was comfortable and clean, and the kids loved staying in a castle.

Provided a fan due to no air conditioning.Lacks an elevator and had to lug heavy bags from the parking lot up winding castle type stairs in the turret.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, the overall ambience very pleasing. Wifi in the room didn't work which was the only negative. Lovely base for touring and the castle is a joy in itself.

Fabulous hotel
Driving up we were a little surprised at the location (next to a sports field) however as soon as we walked in we were blown away with the wonderful courtyard and building itself as well as the friendly staff. Super stay, wish we had longer to enjoy the pool and garden. Dinner was AMAZING!! Wonderful, romantic stay :)

A beautiful memorable hotel
We visited the hotel in July'13 for 2 nights. The castle is beautiful and unique place to stay. It has an excellent pool which is quiet and relaxing. There's an excellent restaurant and the food is to a high standard, but not cheap if your on a tight budget. It's lovely to eat outside in the courtyard in the evening. The bedroom was pleasant with a nice bathroom. The main attraction is Carcassonne which is definately worth a day trip but it is approx. 30 mins away by car. There's also a Kayaking/ conoeing centre next to the hotel.

I thought it might be fun for the kids to stay in a medieval castle and found this Chateau on Expedia. It's truly fantastic - the images on their website don't do it justice. My kids (and my wife for that matter) were thoroughly impressed. Staff were very friendly and patient with my children. I can only comment on the breakfast which was healthy, rustic and relaxing. The evening meal didn't start service until 7:30pm which was too late for my children so we ate in the nearby village, but I'd liked to have given it a try as the menu looked sumptuous. If you were looking for a romantic trip as a couple then I'd certainly recommend this place and if like me you have a family then even more so. The only slight downside is that there is no kitchen facility during the day, so if you're looking for a mid afternoon sandwich you'll need to take it with you beforehand. This isn't a criticism, I only mention it so that you go prepared, if your children are like mine and are constantly on their feet and hungry throughout the day. If you're travelling down from Paris to Barcelona this is an ideal place for a stopover with lots of character and charm.

This is a complete castle experience The setting is great, nice pool, little river flowing next to it and the food deserves a Michelin star, I only wish I had stayed there longer I would recommend it to anyone wishing to travel back to the time of the cathares

It is a nice hotel but the restaurant has a fixed and somewhat expensive menu. It is foolish to pay 19 euros for a salad!! The food options need to be expanded and prices to become more reasonable. Also the restaurant service is very slow.

Medieval Castle
We were exploring the incredible Cathar region of the Aude Valley and discovered this hotel. Or should I say Chateau! Tucked away in the small village is an incredible restored Chateau along a beautiful small river. The grounds are immaculate with tennis court and swimming pool and the walls have recreations of Cathar inquisition and history. There is a wonderful courtyard for breakfast and cocktails and the service staff are amazing and friendly. The room we had was incredible and decorated with four poster bed and portraits of kings and dukes. We were transported back centuries and had a restfull relaxing night's sleep. Should also mentioned the formal dining room that was packed with guests and served an unforgettable 3 course meal at an affordable price. We would recommend this to anyone staying in the area and will return for sure!
