  • On a work-road trip to McAllen, Texas I had the opportunity to swing by Corpus Christi and grab dinner. No parading, no shopping planned, just a quick bite before seeing more freeway. I wasn't expecting to see very much. Boy, was I surprised. We stopped for dinner just 4 miles off our route at Harrison's in Corpus Christi. We sat in the "floating" seating, a roped off dock with tables and chairs, and enjoyed some of the town's talented musicians singing homegrown versions of Sublime songs. The sun set with beautiful yellow and orange colored clouds reflected in the water and I was amazed no others were photographing this beautiful scene. Maybe indifferent, or maybe used to the beauty that is this town, and us the tourists making ourselves clearly known. Thank you Corpus Christi for your beauty and your meal. I'm sorry our stay was rushed, we will definitely be back!

By far the worst thing that could happen on this trip. I stayed for a 3 night stay. I called the front desk and and asked to deny turndown service and instead having some items delivered to the room. The request was completed. My room layout had a separate living area that leads to the bedroom. Housekeeping took a while with the request so my partner and I were in the bedroom and I was disrobed when all a sudden a housekeeper walks into the bedroom area. It was very awkward, and I am disappointed that there was no knock or announcement of room entry on their part. Saw the housekeeping manager in the hallway and advised them of the situation they apologized and said they would speak to the attendant. The night shift staff was by far very hospitable and kind. The day shift individuals need some guidance, when asked about amenities or any questions about the area they were very dismissive. Pool towels were lacking and when I called to let FD know they said, “use your room towels.” Very unpleasant experience

Phone in the room didn't work. Then the heater did work, staff came up to turn heater on... still didnt work... there was gold fish crackers on the floor that wasnt cleaned up and the pool was to cold to swim in. Needless to say, non coming back.....

Restroom was not cleaned thoroughly. Found dirty panties in restroom. They offered to move us to another room but we had already settled in. But they did come and re-clean the restroom really good

Listen, it's Corpus. IDK what I expected. I was with a group. My room seemed fairly clean, although the couch (it was a suite) should have been replaced at least 2-3 years ago, the cushions were so sunken in. One of the people in my group arrived to a toilet seat with blood on it. Another had pubic hairs in their towels. My tp roll was all gone and instead of replacing it, they just set a new one on top of the used roll. We were on the 10th and 12th floors. Most mornings around 7-8 the elevator (there were only 2 working, sometimes just 1) took 15 minutes, making me late to my meeting. It's so clear that the staff is overworked, even though they are easily the best part of the property. I had a bay view, and that was also very nice, even though the balcony doors don't actually open. But it is in fact right on the shoreline, and that's great. It's within easy walking distance of some really good nightlife. And the Vietnam restaurant just across the street is outstanding. Also, I did the hotel parking ($18 additional per night), and found the parking garage had plenty of spaces and felt very safe.

They cancelled my room at the last minute and said they had overbooked! Now I’m having to initiate the refund. What’s the point of a reservation if a hotel can just cancel at the last minute? And then not even try to get you your refund or make amends in any way?

The room was nice. The hotel was nice and very accommodating and the food from the restaurant in the hotel was pretty good too. The bartenders were awesome especially Destiney shout out to her. She definitely created some good vibes downstairs that kept us buying drinks. Herk at the front desk was pretty cool. He was accommodating as well allowing us to check in early and put us close to a traveling friend of ours.

Internet was ridiculous….hardly worked at all some of the time and didn’t work at all most of the time. Room service was a farce…answering machine telling you no one available and to leave a message, but no room available in voice mail for any additional messages. Tried calling back for an hour and finally gave up with no dinner…again, absurd and beneath the quality of the holiday inn brand. Lastly, when for breakfast and signed the bill which only gave me the option to charge to the room vs putting it on a credit card and then went to check out and was told they couldn’t check me out until the bill was input from the restaurant. The front desk clerk called the restaurant to get them to put the charge on the bill and they didn’t respond. I told the front desk I needed to leave and they tried again…anyway, seemed odd I couldn’t check out seamlessly. Also I had no car and the front desk person asked me if I needed to pick up the car from the garage I assume to try to trick me into saying yes…when I said I didn’t have a car, he said yes, he could see I didn’t on the bill….so I wondered why he asked me about whether I needed to pull the car out of the garage other than to try to catch a customer in a lie…other than the above, the property is nice.
