We stayed at this hotel as a stopping point enroute to Killarney from Dublin, and we stayed at a Leonardo in Dublin which was excellent, but this is far from that experience. The staff are helpful and courteous, and we had dinner and breakfast in the hotel which was good.
The hotel itself is an old building and therefore does not have any air-conditioning or thermostat controls in the rooms. It was warm, and I can't imagine what this place would be like during summer.
There is no place to park the car outside of the hotel entrance to unload, so we found this inconvenient. Only after checking in we were informed of parking off-site in the under ground lot at Lapp's Quay €12/night. Elevators were out of order so we had to use the elevator from another hotel which took some time to figure out.
Walking down Oliver Plunkett from the hotel to the English Market was disgusting with feces in doorways, alleys were homeless shelter. Unfortunate for them, but we did not experience any of this elsewhere in Ireland or Northern Ireland. This is the main reason I have 2 stars.
