The mansion is nice but getting outdated. The spa was disappointing, several of the sauna were not on and bathing suits are required. The gym is very small and poorly ventilated, windows open is the technique. There is only one restaurant with limited choices and there is nothing to do in the area.

Dear Mark Thank you so much for taking your time to write a review. We are sorry to hear that we did not live up to your expectations. It is customs for danish spas to require bathing suits. Also for hygienec reasons. We have saunas in His and Hers changing rooms, where it is not required to wear a bathing suit. We have a main restaurent, "Brasserie Carl", with limited choices, and a menu that changes so it fits the season. But we also have "The Lobby", which is located just behind the reception. Here we have a different menu, and it is a bit more casual, and here we also have "Dish of the day" with a new dish every day. Skodsborg is located between that beautiful forrest and the ocean, and is a quiet and calm area just next to Copenhagen. The train station is just a few hundred meters from the hotel, if you are looking for something more to do.We hope we get the chance to welcome you again. This place was amazing. The facilities were fantastic! The spa is top notch. Make sure to sign up for the saunagus early. It fills up. It’s in a suburban neighborhood, so don’t expect anything to be within walking distance.

The perfect couple's retreat
Delightful experience. Nice staff, great spa and wellness facilities and a great kitches. We enjoyed or stay at Skodsborg so much. Definitely not the last time we pay them a visit.

A bit of a disappointment
The stay was a gift to our daughter (for her konfirmation) and we had looked forward to dining at the hotel restaurant, which is high quality. When we checked in, we asked to have a table reserved, but we were told that it was fully booked. We were told we could dine in the foyer (which has its own kitchen), but bar snacks and meals don't cut it, when you had planned on a 5 course meal and wine menu. The receptionist shrugged and told us that there were some restaurants about a 15 drive from the hotel. She seemed disinterested. We ended up finding sticks and sushi om Google maps (at Rungsted) and the service there was better than at the hotel. Later during the stay we were told that we should have booked directly on the hotel website so we would not miss out to recommendations (such as booking a table). The spa was also fairly crowded - and perhaps not worth the additional 900 kr we had to pay. Besides the lack luster service, the rooms were tidy and nice and the breakfast was good quality.

We stayed here for our honeymoon right after our wedding and it did not disappoint. We were not able to check in early (but that's our fault for assuming we would be able to and booking a flight that got in so early) but they offered passes to the spa for us and the lounge was extremely comfortable. Our room was a dream with a view of the sea and we loved everything from the morning breakfast through the spa and cocktails. Truly a great place to unwind, relax and recover. There is also a wide network of parks and paths close to the resort and easy walking distance from the train.

I gave this stay to my parents and they loved it. Unfortunately there was a lot of construction in the hotel at the moment, which was not communicated to me prior to the booking. I would have expected that from Skodsborg Hotel.

Hotel is lovely, guests generally not so much, staff very friendly and efficient but hotel seemed to be full of rude and self obsessed middle aged women who spoil the atmosphere. But ignore them and it’s a lovely venue.

Great spa, disappointing rooms and view
The spa area is amazing and so is the personal. Same goes for the people working in the desk. The most disappointing to us was that our bed linen was dirty on checkin, we had a train passing our windows every 20-30mins and breakfast was not included even though the cost of the stay is among the highest in Denmark. When the hotel demand such high nightly prices their description of the rooms should be better! You don’t go for a very expensive standard room and then expect trains to pass by just outside windows and then to be informed that breakfast is 25-30pounds on top of the room cost. At the price of the rooms we should expect them to be impeccable and so should cleaning, we don’t find that to be the case.

Great place for a last stay before flying home! We utilized the spa facilities and loved it all. We ate in the lobby with timely service and good food. wish they had A/C but the windows did open for a cool night sleep.

Lovely hotel - no shuttle service from the airport
Hotel was lovely, breakfast was varied, healthy and tasty, rooms comfortable and all staff very helpful and friendly. But there is no airport shuttle service as claimed on the Hotels.com website. We contacted the hotel to ask about it and were told they could arrange for a car and driver for us - not quite an airport shuttle ("We do not have a shuttle service to our hotel. But you can either take a taxi which is approximately 700 DKK or we can rent a car and driver for you, which would be 1500 DKK."). We took a taxi from the airport which cost around 900DKK. We took a train from Kokkedal train station back to the airport, at the end of our stay, it was much cheaper.

Perfect for relaxing
I honestly can't figure out why we chose this hotel. We didn't use the spa. We didn't eat the food. We had to take the train to go closer to Copenhagen to find some food that was a little more to our liking. The hotel was nice enough and it is perfect for relaxing. The carpet could use some updating. Getting a taxi cost way too much.
