The monarch colony here was quite different than at the more popular El Rosario sanctuary. 40 minutes outside Zitacuaro, near El Capulin, we chartered a couple of tiny mountain horses to take us up the rugged path to view the colony. The monarchs were clustered within a ravine, swirling around a few choice pine trees in search of sunny roosts. Whenever the sun went behind a cloud the butterflies scrambled into the air and back to the safety of the nucleus, knowing that settling down for the night outside the warmth of the colony would mean certain death.

Beautiful place!!

It is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are big and nice, and the amenities are very good for kids. However, the pool was too cold.

such an incredible and beautiful place. It has everything. Horse, tennis, bicyling, golf, ping pong, and incredible covered swimming pool, jacuzzi, everything, So nicely done in an old renewed Hacienda. Incredible place. Nothing to do outside the Hacienda though.

excelente lugar para relajarse y descansar, todo el personal muy atento, la comida es muy buena, los jardines son espectaculares, alberca techada,.... la única queja es que cuando cierra la tiendita, ya no hay amenidades, allí te prestan las raquetas de tenis, los implementos de ping pong y de villar, el domingo la tiendita cierra a las 5¡ Las bicicletas grandes para adultos muy escasas... el domingo brunch con mariachi...muy bueno

Es un lugar increíble en medio de la naturaleza. Lo escogimos como lugar de descanso al venir de Tlalpujahua. La comida es buena. El lugar muy seguro y hermoso. El hotel tiene amenidades que incluso lo hacen ideal para pasar el fin de semana completo en pareja, familia o hasta evento. El único inconveniente es el frío pero la verdad vale mi CV o la pena.

Las camaristas te roban tus cosas. Si no tienes de otra que hospedarte ahí, no dejes cosas en la habitación, aprovechan tu ausencia para extraer tus objetos preciados.

Hermoso lugar. Algunas habitaciones les deben dar mantenimiento de plomería para no gastar agua. Sugiero que se vuelva a abrir la sección de siglo XXI todo el tiempo y dar opción de quedarse ahí. La experiencia, en comparación al siglo XIX es muy distinta.
