Pros- the price is great, comfortable bed, friendly staff, coffee in the room and at the office, parking in front of your door, great water pressure with plenty of hot water, and a very convenient location. Cons- no hangers, no luggage rack, no hair dryer, the TV only got one channel ( we don’t usually watch TV so we didn’t ask for help), the bathroom could use a deep deep cleaning of the floor grout, and the bathtub desperately needed refinishing.

You get what you pay for

The room seemed clean at first but there were roaches. the bathroom is in serious need of some work. The mattress is wrapped in plastic so it is like sleeping on newspaper. Every time you move its a lot of noise. The upside is that it's cheap.

We really weren't at the hotel for long as we were shopping at Round Top, but we enjoyed the room, nice size, very clean. It was a very quiet hotel and located near restaurants, so made it easy to come and go. If you are easy going, want a great room for a bargain price, stay here. We do plan to stay again on our return to antique week, because for the price and the fact there we are only in the room long enough to shower and sleep, it's a perfect place to stay. The best part : The Oaks doesn't inflate its prices during Antique Week, they have an affordable hotel with an affordable price. Our stay for the two days came to 1/4 the price we normally have to pay in the Round Top/ Warrenton area. Drive to La Grange, unwind and have a great sleep. Now outside was not so clean, we had to move a baby walker before we could ever park, our walk away was strewn with empty beer cans.(hopefully they had fallen out of a recycling sack) The maid's storage closet was open and things scattered everywhere.

Good stay

We regularly stay here. They've done some updates over the years, but a lot of the original character remains. Fridge was not cooling which we really needed. Time to get some lime scale remover on the faucets, but we'll be back.

Upon arrival, the property/parking lot needed some “tidying up” but the room appeared fine. Unfortunately a good cleaning would have done wonders for the bathroom. Also, the cold water at the bathroom sink didn’t work so brushing teeth and washing your face was done with scalding water. The front desk/ manager was polite and friendly.

This property is lovely. It’s updated and being worked on to update all the rooms. It’s a beautiful vibe, easy to find and get in and out. Close to downtown. The staff is incredible and very welcoming and helpful. We will absolutely stay again!

Great place I usually don’t choose the less expensive places but the reviews were good! I was impressed with the place ! Comfortable beds , great air conditioning, very clean! The bathroom was clean but older but looked spectacular! I’m actually thinking about taking my wife and us do so exploring in the area ! Very interesting town and the hotel is definitely worth staying at
