Lovely, well appointed gem in the quiet hamlet of Cognac. Terrific staff and Michelin Star dining on property - too much food! The pool is heated, convenient short walk from our room and the surrounding spa and amenities are outstanding. However, I cannot say enough about the impeccable staff who made us feel welcome at Christmas,
Exceptional accommodation, very slick and ultra modern, perhaps out of character for a vineyard district.
Wonderful service staff however hotel is quite unconnected with food and beverage operators so between having to dine offsite and disappointing experience when a table became available, I suggest using this hotel only for luxurious bedding.
A very new hotel which has been converted from a cognac distillery by an ingenious architect who has retained the character with modern facilities. Extremely good parking arrangements
The hotel was converted from an old distillery. Everything looks and feels ultra modern; if you like ultra modern, then it's good. Because of the conversion, things seem spread out. It took us a little effort to find the restaurants. The restaurant has a Michelin star and is good. The brasserie is great. Also, plenty of parking space.
The hotel is very beautiful but we experienced a few issues with the service in the Distillery dining room.
We mentioned these issues to reception on checkout and they seemed to take them seriously.
The breakfast buffet was also confusing as they have 2 options (€18 and €35) but both are in the same area - which must be impossible to manage (in fact we were charged for the full €35 when we had actually stuck to the €18 option).
This is frustrating as a 5 star hotel of this calibre should be able to manage things like this seamlessly.
I was also disappointed to see miniature toiletries in the bathroom - as we all move to a more sustainable economy I would prefer to see full size shower gels etc mounted in the shower instead of tiny disposable ones.
Fantastic, unique property. The ambience was very relaxed and friendly. The rooms were huge and beautifully appointed. The use of an old cognac distillery, blended with the modern refurbishment, made for a truly unique hotel.
Construction and road closures made it difficult to reach the property.

When we arrived we went to the Spa area to relax in the sauna and steam room and nothing work, the day after our coffee machine in our room didn’t work so we have to call the receptionist to send us someone to fix it, our last day, there was no hot water in our shower, so we took our shower with very cold water :(
Lovely hotel but lack of communication - we weren’t told that breakfast wasn’t included in our hotel rate so got landed with a hefty bill on check out. We also couldn’t get into any of the hotel restaurants during our stay so was only offered ‘room service’ that ended at 10pm, so had to find external options - very disappointing as a paying guest of the hotel.
Th property was gorgeous. Everything from The layout to the tranquil ponds and plants and the room design evoke luxury and relaxation. The staff for the most part were excellent. There was one rude lady checking us in for breakfast who chastised me for not speaking French. I hadn't spoken French in many years and had brushed up on some basic phrases, but she was speaking very fast and I couldn't understand her so I asked if she spoke English (all the other staff members did and were polite about it). She proceeded to lecture me and my husband about visiting a country and not speaking the language. Normally I would have given the attitude right back, but I didn't want anyone tampering with my food, and my 3 year old was already getting fussy. That was very inappropriate of the staffer. However, other than that it was a great experience.
Chambre propre et prête en avance. Très joli établissement. Le bar est sublime. Nous avons passé un moment privilégié pendant l’atelier cocktail. Merci pour ce séjour. Nous recommandons vivement cet établissement !
