"Staff were lovely. It has been a beautiful house in its day a little tired in places. Nicely decorated with fairly spacious bedroom room and bathroom. Clean throughout and room service cleaned and replaced tea and coffee daily. Warm and comfortable suited us well for exploring Wiltshire "

"We were staying here because our bathroom is being renovated and will definitely stay again. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with a brilliant shower that I did not have to faff around with adjusting, just turned on and it was the perfect temperature. The underfloor heating makes the room very warm although one can open the windows. In kinder weather, there are chairs outside each of the rooms to sit on and enjoy a drink or smoke, and the pub itself is a friendly and comfortable place just to sit down and have tea/coffee or a drink. It is not 24 hour service but there is a 24 hour M&S Simply food across the road (though be careful crossing if on foot). Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. Sunday. I prefer this smaller place (10 rooms) to a larger hotel, where I feel shut in and have to traverse corridors and stairs to get out. As Coate Water adjacent to the Sun, there is a lot of greenery and fresh air despite the busy road. (I was thrilled to hear a thrush at 6.30 a.m). Altogether it was a very cosy and comfortable experience. "

"Hotel itself was clean and maintained well. Bathrooms were nice and clean as well. My issue with this hotel is that I booked and paid for a room that had 2 single beds and a double bed. When checking in I was informed that it was hotel policy that only 2 adults per room and given a room with a single bed and a double bed. My friend had to book her own room on the spot because of that yet the website and booking company never stated there was a 2 adult per room policy. "

"The kitchen had a cigarette smell; perhaps the curtains had not been cleaned or changed. Sheets were clean, but the dishes and general cleanliness were not good. Location was okay. "
