Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
The gentleman who checked me in was wonderful. The manager was very rude and disrespectful. They put me in a room that was not prepared. Moved me to another room that was already reserved for somebody else then moved me again to another room where the TV wasn’t working the phone wasn’t working and somebody had to come fix everything. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had.
Room not clean. Only 1 washcloth and no hand towels for 2 people. No shampoo/conditioner, only 2 tiny bars of soap. Dresser missing a drawer. Original plastic wrap still on mini fridge and was peeling bad. No hangers to hang up coats. Bottom interior side of bathroom door bubbling/rolling up. Bathroom vent coated in dust/dirt.
On the positive side: Front desk staff very nice and friendly. Location good (near interstate, restaurants). Beds were fairly comfortable.
I started in one room (213) that literally had dead bugs in the drawers, a filthy carpet, two torn chairs, a ripped bedspread and just overall dirty. The staff was very nice and apologetic and gave me a new washcloth, as I had used mine to clean up the dead bugs.
The next morning, the shower took over an hour and a half to drain, so I told the front desk. Again, they were very nice and apologetic and offered to change my room. I declined at that time because I was on my way out, but when I got back, they said that the bathtub couldn’t be fixed easily and that they needed to move me. Again, very nice staff, yucky conditions.
I moved to the other room. I was happy to be on the third floor as it smelled like good air freshener as opposed to wet dog, which was how the second floor hallways smelled.
The second room was somewhat better. That room ALSO had a ripped bedspread, which was bizarre. It only had one very nasty chair instead of two, and the shower drained in about 30 minutes. 😳
This second room though? NASTY NASTY NASTY carpeting. I made the mistake of walking on it barefoot. I’m fairly sure there was some sort of cough medicine all over it plus lord only knows what else. It was sticky and filthy. Yuck yuck yuck.
A very long time ago I actually lived on a Red Roof Inn for about 6 weeks while we were waiting for our home to close. It was great! I trusted this brand because of it. My trust was definitely misplaced. Again though, the staff was extremely friendly.
Extremely dirty room, stained and ripped sheets. Smelled of marijuana and was extremely outdated with cobwebs everywhere. Length of stay about 20 minutes.
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. From the moment we walked in, there was a foul odor that can only be described as “expired marijuana being covered by your grandmother’s handmade and regifted candle that smells of pine, basil and cherry.” The stench progressed to “hidden roach infestation & cotton candy vape juice” once we arrived on the second floor. We got into our room, where the toilet seat was held on by half of a screw, the door was missing it’s deadbolt, stains covered every INCH of the place, and the window looked like it was spit shined.
The phone for the room was missing. half of the light bulbs were never replaced after being burnt out. We, exhausted from the late evening, decided to deal with it. We were just in need to rest and immediately leave in the morning. Out of everything, it could have provided a shelter for the evening. We, however, were not even granted the ability to sleep for more than 3 hours by our arrival. 3am, and the fire alarm got triggered for 0 reason.
In another moment after the chaos, my party stood outside, waiting to figure out what happened. Another hotel guest, (with one of the rooms connected to the sidewalk,) heard us speaking by their door, opened it, was pissed at us, and slammed his door so hard that it bounced back open for him to repeat the action. I would have been pissed too if I had to stay a minute more in this hotel than I needed to.
Needless to say, dear reader, run away.
