We stayed for 5 nights and we really enjoyed our time at this hotel. Our room was extremely clean and housekeeping came in every day. The room had a high ceiling and blackout curtains which we appreciated. The breakfast was very good and the quality of the food was exceptional. And the location of the hotel worked very well for us. We spent most of our time walking everywhere we wanted to go but we did also take the bus a couple of times which was close by. We also really enjoyed a local pizza shop named Pizzeria Viola Roma that was just around the corner from the hotel.
Great stay once we broke the DaVinci code to get through the gate, front door, hall door, and then the apartment door. One thing for sure, the place is secure!
I do not recommend! There is no way to access the property until 3pm, no place to stow luggage if you are getting off a cruise ship in the morning. No staff at all ever at the property, just an email with access instructions that is sent just before 3pm.
It is important to note that this is not a hotel. It is a guest house, where the owners/proprietors are off site. Everything relies on a series of codes to gain access to the building, therefore it is extremely important to follow all instructions right to the letter in order to gain access to the accommodation. I did everything except follow up the day before (we were in Rome), so we ended up relying on another couple to help us get into the building. That all being said, once you do get in, it is a nice place to spend the night before your cruise. You have your own room, own bathroom and balcony, and a shared kitchen with some amenities. Civitavecchia has a few hotels, but they are expensive and these guest houses are more common and economical. I would do it again, now that I have the experience and know what to do.
Clean room and connected private bathroom and shower. Hard to get to since no elevator we are older and I had a walker and we had 4 bags of luggage. But we made due.
