I had a great stay in an upstairs studio room here (rm 15). It caught the morning and afternoon sun. I didn't have a rental car for this trip, the location of the motel is great. I enjoyed morning walks in Hagley park, it is an easy 2km flat walk to the city centre. Was easy to get a bus to other destinations. Lots of cafe, coffee, restaurant choices all near. The room has a little 'wear and tear' (fair for the age), but it was tidy and clean, good water pressure in shower. Appreciated having a table and armchairs - often missing in a studio room. Really appreciated being able to leave my bag on site early before my afternoon checkin. Thanks!

We stayed at the property for two nights and were extremely pleased with our experience. The lounge and bedroom were both spacious and comfortable, making it easy to relax during our stay. Everything met our expectations, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book here again in the future.

Parking area was very tight. Great area with restaurants close by and staff were lovely. Very dirty room, from splatter marks all over the walls, dust everywhere and feet went black from walking barefoot on the carpet.

The Colonial inn is a solid choice for the price. My stay there was fine. It is an easy 15 minute walk into the central city. The rooms are large and practical and the bathroom and kitchen are clean and totally functional. The Motel is undergoing some maintenance which is good because it is a little run down. Because there is no double glazing I found the road noise was quite loud.
