"Stayed for one night on journey heading South. Clean and comfortable hotel room. Evening meal was very good but with a limited menu, especially for vegetarian friends we were with. Good position with plenty of parking and small garden. Our dog enjoyed the stay as well ! Have also booked for our return journey."

We had several ‘challenges’- the heater in the bathroom only stayed on for 1 minute, the hairdrier did not work, the room was very clean when we arrived but daily room service was poor- only made the bed and changed the towels. "We loved meeting Roc and staying here! This is a French country house and got us out of the city and into the beautiful countryside. Roc was welcoming, gave us access to his family home and gardens, and an excellent restaurant recommendation in a nearby town. He even called to make a reservation for us. "

Choue (Loir-et-Cher) Ruines de la chapelle du prieuré Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption de Guériteau (13e siècle). La chapelle se situe près d'une source aux vertus bienfaisantes, d'où le nom de Guériteau. Vers 1240, les Bénédictins, après avoir quitté leur prieuré situé dans l'enceinte du château de Mondoubleau, s'installèrent près de Choue. De ces constructions ne subsiste que la chapelle. La chapelle était déjà en ruine en 1791. Le prieuré de Guériteau a sa légende, il aurait été construit par un seigneur qui avait malmené un ecclésiastique : Selon Beauvais de Saint-Paul, historien de Mondoubleau, au début du XIIIe siècle, un seigneur de Mondoubleau parti en Terre sainte fut fait prisonnier. Les années passant, sa femme, Clémence des Roches, n'espérait plus son retour et trouvait du réconfort auprès du moine du petit prieuré dédié à Sainte Marie situé dans le domaine du château. Un jour qu'ils s'entretenaient tous deux de religion dans une pièce du donjon, le seigneur réapparut et, croyant que le prieur courtisait sa femme, le précipita par la fenêtre.
