Friendly and helpful staff for a family run hotel, interesting building and touches, but could use some work on things like getting consistent hot water -- especially when there is a wood hot tub that is only luke warm.
What a beautiful hidden gem. We had such a wonderful stay at the Amethyst, the rooms were spacious, pool was huge, service was exceptional. We miss it already! Very easy to get Grab to travel into the city, and so safe and quiet at night - complete with little squirrels in the trees!
Excellent hotel with authentic Thai facilities and theme.Lady owner and her son treated us like family, breakfast and pool was amazing, lovely and quiet away from city centre but only about 4 pound for a taxi to get to centre.all staff were so friendly.will definitely use this hotel again when next in chiang mai.👍💕
Guest host Garrit went over and beyond with hospitality. Love the property and even the location: close enough to but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle.
I wish I could give this place 6 stars, my stay here was fabulous. The garden and pool area is gorgeous, as are the rooms. Thai decor everywhere, just beautiful and unique. The hotel is run by a mother and her son and I felt so well taken care of and so comfortable during my entire stay. Very easy and cheap to get to Chiang Mai center from hotel and so nice to be able to return to this tranquil oasis after a busy day exploring the city.

The property is very beautiful in a traditional Thai style hotel. The swimming pool is surrounded by a nice landscape. If you're looking for a nice quiet place away from the city but not too far by taxi for only $3 this is the place to stay. The rooms are very clean, staff is very friendly they provide you with a traditional Continental Thai breakfast and the price is great. Many people dream of staying at a place like this from the United States and my friends in Asia and the European Union. Many friends showed me pictures of places like this. To leave this place had met all my expectations and the owners and staff cheated me and other guests just like family. What else could you ask for in a dream vacation.

Liked: Staff & service
Property for foreigners is a ways away from nightlife and activities. The recent flooding in Chiang Mai left the pool unusable during our stay, and some cleanup still required on the property, which we cannot fault the staff for.
Staff were friendly, but maid service is upon request rather than automatic. There is no laundry, but you can pay for the service for 120bhat.
Rooms are cute as pictured, but the pillows were a pair of bricks. Lighting could have been better in the bathrooms.
My friends took me over to another area of Chiang Mai that admittedly I prefer over this area. It's quiet, and nice for maybe a first trip, but the best areas are not over there.
Un accueil familial de tous instants
Chaleureux , convivial
