Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Ummahat Al Shaykh Island vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and go for shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
