• While the list of banned items differs between air carriers, the general rule to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. Don a pair of compression socks, drink plenty of water and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Walk around the cabin when possible or perform exercises in your seat.

• Airport security personnel first need to establish that you have a valid passport and travel documents before you're allowed to proceed any further. Have them ready to show.
