Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organized. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Romsey escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, any daily medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, drills, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like ski poles, and items that could injure passengers, such as firearms and swords, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by dressing in layers, and pick closed-toe, flat footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
