Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:

• Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).

What to wear on a flight:

• Your belt, jacket, keys and other small items, like coins, will be required to go through the X-ray machine. Make the whole process easier by removing them before your turn arrives.
• For just a few minutes, you'll have to unplug from technology. Your phone, tablet and any other electronic gadgets will need to go through the scanner.
• Traveling with a new hand and nail cream? Not a problem. As long as the volume is no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and it's stored in a zip-close bag, it's OK to bring with you on board.
• There's a possibility that you'll need to take your shoes off to be X-rayed, so wearing slip-on sneakers is always a good idea.
• Sharp items such as knives and scissors are not allowed in the cabin. They'll be confiscated at security, so put them in your checked bags.
