Wherever you’re jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you’ve prepared well enough. Follow these handy tips and tricks that will help get your Hot Springs vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right things. First things first, you’ll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don’t have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your main priority when choosing what to wear on board. Consider your footwear choice with care too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are a common side effect of flying. Flat shoes which are slightly roomy are always a sensible way to go.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a pair of compression socks also helps reduce your risk.
