We’ve got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you’ll be speeding through the airport and having a blast in Danielson in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you’ll want a few toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, knives, fireworks and fuel. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could injure passengers, such as swords and guns, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight is often as simple as your choice in clothes. Prepare yourself for varying temperatures by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin begins to cool down. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left in your suitcase. Even though they may be your favorites, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will appreciate it.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression tights or socks may also help.
