No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Cross Village vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight often lies in the clothes you wear. Prepare for changes in temperature by layering up. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like sandals and heels are best left in your suitcase. Even though they may be your favorites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you later.
- The result of sustained periods of immobility, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers on long-distance flights. The good news is there are numerous ways to significantly reduce the risk of developing it. Stay well hydrated, walk around the cabin whenever possible and wear compression tights or socks.
