If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be a real challenge. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks for a pain-free start to your vacation in Campaign. What to pack in your hand luggage:

• Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.

• Be sure to have your ID and travel documents within close reach. They're the first items you'll be asked for by security.
• The X-ray machine is up next. Remove anything on you that is likely to beep. This includes items like headphones or earphones, as well as your coat or jacket. They'll need to be placed on the conveyor belt for screening.
• Electronic devices like phones and laptops will also have to go through the machine for inspection. Don't worry though, you'll be back online before you know it.
