We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be zooming through the airport and discovering Beulah in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you carry the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a good book. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and go for shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
