Great experience from the moment we drove to the entrance. Very good service. Spectacular building, tasteful decor and beautiful surroundings. Incredible breakfast and amenities. The only few things that made me not give it 10/10 was the fact you have to pay 10€ to use the spa, which I can’t justify with a hotel of this price tag. Also, we wanted to be bougie and order room service but neither of the phones in the room was working so we had to go downstairs to order which kind of defeats the purpose. The only open fountain has very limited hours open.
The hotel is spectacular. The surrounds are spectacular, and the amenities are fantastic. A proper gym, great pools, great restaurants. We loved it.
The only issue are some of the staff who seem to be only 50% committed to their job. Not all of them, many of who were kind and attentive, but unfortunately the bad apples were noticeable enough for multiple other guests to bring it up on their own volition with us.
Which is a shame as the hotel is otherwise perfect.

The vintage property and surroundings are outstanding. But I believe the value is excessive, with rear facing pet friendly room as surely a downgrade, not an upgrade.
5 star service and accommodations. Amazing grounds.
Wonderful SPA!!! The thermal massage is a must do. It was very hard to get in. Book in advance when you make your reservation.
The bikes were horrible, but I think they are waiting for new ones.
The concierge was the best we have ever encountered. He gave us an amazing tour of Chavis and provided access to one of the best vineyards we have ever visited. Wonderful service.
Breakfast was very good. We ate at both Restaurants and were disappointed with the meals. We did not do the taster menu in the ballroom but did have the duck and veal and would not order them again. The Lobster/ avocado dish was amazing. We would go back to this hotel.
My husband and I booked two rooms so we could each take calls and work in the evenings.
When we arrived, the restaurant had no electricity, so only salad was available. We’d just cycled 90km, so that was disappointing but understandable.
Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Not long after checking in, the Wi-Fi stopped working (and stayed down for the rest of our stay), and the power outage that had affected only the restaurant spread to the entire hotel. Electricity was out for most of the night — about 90% of our stay — leaving us unable to work as planned. We had to use our phones as hotspots (costly since we don’t have a global data plan) and sit in the dark with limited laptop battery.
We checked with reception several times but received no communication or updates. When we checked out, no one asked how our stay was, and there was no apology or acknowledgment of the situation. Hotels.com also reached out on our behalf, but the hotel declined to offer any compensation or even a note of apology.
For a property that advertises itself as five stars, this was extremely disappointing. Power issues can happen, but how a hotel handles them makes all the difference — and the complete lack of communication or customer care here was unacceptable.
Would not recommend.
