Retired couple vacation
This was a nice place to stay for location and bed was comfortable. The fellow who did our breakfasts went above and beyond for us since we had to leave earlier than breakfast our second day. We shared a balcony on the 2nd floor with 2 other rooms which was nice to converse with other people, except the owner below us sat out and smoked us out continuously. A resident cat roams the inside along with her 'service dog', and the rooms are all left open. Not good for allergy sufferers such as my husband.
The caretaker David was wonderful, but it is evident that the facility is in need of major renovations. The breakfast was good but 9am is much too late for my husband and I, we felt like we were wasting our morning sticking around until 9am for breakfast. Though the location was good, we would not recommend this place unless renovations had been done.
We did not get the room we booked, the bed had red stains, the air conditioner was broken, the screen on window off, the vent in bathroom didn't work, the cook wore dirty socks and had dirty had while serving food, the "king" bed was 2 twins pushed together, there were spiders crawling everywhere, the garbage in kitchen was overflowing, the "beautiful" grounds had people camping on them and using the kitchen and bathroom, it's was absolutely terrible and should be shut down for health and safety.

Delightful place to stay with great service and a wonderful breakfast !
This was a wonderful Inn. Right on 151 and super close to all of the breweries/cideries/wineries you could possibly want. Also very close to different trail heads or a short drive from more train heads further up the mountain. The room was perfect for a quaint stay. The view from the front porch was beautiful and the staff were all very friendly. Would recommend to anyone wanting a weekend away.
Old style small plantation house set in wine
Country with wonderful views. welcoming and use of small kitchen as well. En-suite but no tv in room, WiFi ok hosts very helpful and friendly .
Amazing views, the best breakfast I’ve had in years, and quaint inn with a wonderful porch to enjoy the scenery.

It was our first time ever using a B&B, so we don't have a frame of reference for other B&B's. It was definitely better than staying in a boring chain hotel room. The Staff is very friendly and inviting. Breakfast was the only real downside to the stay. Choices were very limited. I believe much of it was reheated in a microwave, muffins were clearly store-bought and heated up before serving, food was over-spiced or over-salted, and no other food service was offered at anytime of day or night. Probably better off going down the road a few minutes to the bakery (there are virtually no chain restaurants in the area). The property is ok, with room to roam, and the house itself is pretty nice for a 180-year old structure. There are SO many fun things to do in a very short driving range if you like hiking, wineries, breweries, scenic overlooks and, of course, skiing in the winter. The whole area is gorgeous!
Overall, great stay with a beautiful view, friendly staff and easy access to surrounding area. Breakfast was also great and very sweet that they have cookies available throughout the day to snack on. I didn't realize how many animals they had at the inn. Not a huge fan of cats, and there was one that kept trying to get into my room. There was also a very loud parrot, that woke me up several times.
Absolutely beautiful property. Our room was very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing and the afternoon cookies a real treat! We will definitely stay here again!

Very comfy bed. and wonderful breakfast! It's a real shame they won't open the restaurant for dinner unless you have a party of at least six people. Extremely irritating slamming screen door late at night and early in the morning and screaming pet bird during early morning as well. Many things around this beautiful old building need tending to but it just isn't happening. This Inn could be superb with a little more effort. Also, NEEDS some lighting in the parking area which is surrounded by bushes and trees and at the end of the drive.

Beautiful and comfortable getaway
A beautiful house in a beautiful area! From the comfortable seating on the front porch to the bottomless sangria pitcher and cookie plate, they think of everything to make your stay enjoyable!
We picked this place by accident, however were extremely please. Room was well decorated and cozy. The 3 course gourmet breakfasts were just that. The hostess was most gracious and helpful. When we return to the area will likely stay here again.

Not a bed and breakfast...
Just beware this is NOT a bed and breakfast; it's a bed and continental breakfast in a styrofoam container that guests pick up from the fridge. Very disappointing. I was so looking forward to staying here.So disappointed... Hope others have a better experience.
I booked this B&B based on some reviews that they were very personable and the views were great. Unfortunately we did not experience any of this. We put our reasons why we were staying in the additional notes (it was our 6th anniversary and the first night away from our newborn). No one was available when we got to the house, and we had to search around and finally yell to find someone. Our room was sub par and was not very clean. Some of the chairs had stains on them and I did not even want to set my bag on it. The bath tub was not very clean and needed updating. I asked to check out before breakfast so that we could make it back home to our newborn as fast as possible and we were told thats not what we usually do but i will see if i can figure it out. Overall, for the price that we paid we should have gone somewhere else.
The Mark Addy Bread and Breakfast that I booked thru Hotel Planner was a disappointment. The pictures were nothing like the Inn looked when we arrived. I booked 2 nights and only stayed 1 night. We did not even stay for a morning breakfast. The Inn was not cared for very good at all. The grass was 8 inches tall at least, looked like it had not been maintained in weeks. The flower beds were all full of weeds and grown up badly. The bathroom in our room had the faucet installed incorrectly and the Inn Keeper had to advise us about this so we would not get burned by the hot water. The drainage pipes from the window air conditioners were draining on the porch off our bedroom were we were told was a nice sitting area outside. The porch was full of spider webs as web. In the refrigerator in the small public kitchen you could get ice but the water was not available. The Inn advertised a restaurant with a dinner menu but when we got there we were told there would be no dinner available. We had to go to the nearest town to find somewhere to eat. Overall this was a VERY BAD B&B experience.
Please DO NOT ACCEPT ANY FURTHER CHARGES FROM THE MARK ADDY INN to my credit card. I will be prepared to DISPUTE any additional charges from them.
I would Never recommend this B&B to anyone.
This is the best Bed and Breakfast I have ever stayed at. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made you feel like family. Leslie (one of the owners) knew everyone's names. She would constantly check in with you to make sure you were happy with your stay. She provided the best costumer service! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was delicious. I was excited to wake up each morning and devour the decadent food that the staff provided. I will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Nellysford area.
I have enjoyed my stay so much each time. The food is DELICIOUS and the innkeepers are gracious hosts. I plan on returning in the future. The bed was extremely comfortable and the grounds are beautiful and a great place to read and relax. I highly recommend this inn for romantic and girls' weekends.
