「The room was clean, but smelled musty. There is a property across the street with a torn down building and that was our view. Not great. Parking was free and convenient. We are Marriott members and my wife accidently left an important electrical cord behind and the hotel never did tell us about it.」

「While the property was clean, it looked a little outdated but, to us, all the HIG properties look the same. Other than that our room was very nice. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of places to eat in the area and DoorDash was available. Avoid the Golden Corral just down the street from the hotel. It is awful! It’s dirty and expensive with a minimally attentive staff.」

「Based on a lot of reviews I thought this would be a better quick stop than it was. I would have asked for a different room if we got there earlier. The staff is super nice and the breakfast was decent. The room however was crawling with tiny ants. To the point I sprayed bug spray on the side table so they wouldn’t crawl on the bed. I think they had a home in the headboard. I mean a lot of tiny ants. Mold in the bathroom. Just definitely not what I was expecting.」

「We needed a mobility accessible room on short notice and this was the only hotel that had a room that fit our criteria and preferences for accessibility and overall property quality in the area we needed to be in. The staff was helpful with ensuring the room met our needs and were friendly, helpful and patient during our stay. The property is nearly 10 years old but still looks brand new! The only evidence of age was slightly worn and aged carpet in the room and the lounge chair in the room....

「The hotel has a wonderful view of the Kanawha River. The room is spacious but does overlook the road, so you will hear cars throughout the night. The staff is friendly, and the food is good. This hotel is a good value for the money.」
