Amazing location

We stayed here for two nights and wished it was longer. The farm is so peaceful and beautiful, in a wonderful location in the forest. The cabin was clean and comfortable with an amazing view over the hills. One evening we bought food from the shop on site and had a bbq and the other we ordered dinner, which was brought to our cabin for us. The food was delicious and they also bring breakfast each morning. Before we left we had a tour of the farm which was really interesting and I also took time to run some of the hiking trails on site. Chamarel Waterfall, the Ebony Forest and Seven Coloured Earth are all about 5 mins away.

This is a great place to stay but you have to like nature and not be overly concerned about your creature comforts. That said, the beds are comfortable and the cabins well-appointed. The property is located in the forest and the owners have adopted the principle of sustainability. It means only natural methods to control insects. Result: you will have to contend with musquitos. But will see and hear lots of birds and other creatures. Best to arrive by car.

Fabulous but be aware of sleeping close to nature

A unique and beautiful setting where sustaining the environment is clearly a priority. The cabin was well equipped and furnished with everything we needed. They have a wonderful set up and extremely helpful staff. The scenery is amazing and great attractions close by. Unfortunately I have learned how tasty I am to Mauritian mosquitoes and react badly to bites. Despite taking every precaution (repellent, candles, nets, long sleeved clothing), the jungle bugs got me and I left with dozens of bites. So if you are someone susceptible to this, perhaps consider a different accommodation. Not the fault of the owners, of course, just something to be aware of.

Un seul regret : c'était trop court. Nous avons tout aimé. Notre lodge, l'Atelier était fantastique. Le domaine est situé en pleine nature, les oiseaux sont partout. La propreté est irréprochable. Le couchage très confortable. Le logde est spacieux et bien équipé. Le petit déjeuner est très copieux. Nous reviendrons assurément si nous revenons à Maurice.

바다에서 지친 분들께 정말로 추천드립니다. 한국분들 대부분 서부 해안 리조트에 계실텐데요, 모리셔스를 좀 여유있게 여행하시는 분들은 한번오셔서 모리셔스의 자연과 산속 환경을 느껴보시기를 진짜로 추천드려요. 집들은 다 각각 떨어져있어서 혼자 있는 것 같은 프라이버시에 벽난로로 불피우고 바베큐 직접해서먹고 예상하지 못했던 너무 좋은 경험이었습니다. 리셉션에 Sophie, Christelle 및 모든 스태프분들이 친절해서 더더욱 좋았던 것 같습니다. 다음에 모리셔스에 오면 꼭 다시 방문할 겁니다 ㅎㅎ

Ein wunderbares Fleckchen Erde! Wer Ruhe sucht ist hier genau richtig. Liebevoll eingerichtete Häuschen mit viel Charme (wir waren im La Remise & würden es immer wieder wählen). Man hat alles was man sich wünscht, der Service ist top. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig & wird zum Haus gebracht. Alles super frisch. Zum Pool sind es ein paar Meter zu Fuß - hier genießt man eine unglaubliche Aussicht & herrliche Ruhe. Wir habens geliebt & kommen gerne wieder.

Very scenic. All the staff are very friendly and willing to the extra mile to help you. A lot of privacy as you get your own cable. Meal on the porch is wonderful, but need a lot of mosquito coils. There is a tiny pool on the top of the hill. It’s a bit of walk but nice outdoor setting. There are hardly any stores around for you to buy supplies, so shop before going, if you plan to stay longer and cook own meals.

We stayed at the Le Perchoir chalet and it was mind-blowing. The chalet was well maintained and had amazing mountain views. The staff was extremely nice and always willing to help. I highly recommend the horse riding tour offered here along with a visit to the pool on the top of the mountain. Please take into consideration that you will need to have a car to get here and make prior arrangements for food.

Unique cottage in beautiful location

We loved our brief say at La Vieille! It is a very large property with several hiking options, a horse barn, and beautiful views around BRG. There is a small shared office that provides "essentials" for purchase (think snacks, water, alcohol, soap). The staff is super friendly/helpful/accommodating even adjusting their hours for our late flights. Meals can be ordered 24 hours in advance. Keep in mind this is high off the coast towards BRG (very close to Chamarel) and it can take 20 min to drive up the main road. There are no open restaurants/shops in the evening so if you plan to spend a lot of time away from the property it is probably not the right location but we would recommend the stay and spending time on the property!

Vi bodde i en mysig och ren stuga med öppen spis och väldigt fräscht badrum! Det finns ingen restaurang utan man får förboka frukost och middag som man får levererat till stugan att värma på själv. Supergott! Ca 30 min promenad från stugan till centrala Chamarel.

Sejour parfait

Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans notre petite maison et c'était parfait ! Notre "remise", c'était le nom de notre maison était remarquablement bien équipée; cuisine avec l'essentiel pour cuisiner, chambre parfaite avec une literie très confortable, grande salle de bains avec douche ... le tout très propre et magnifiquement bien décoré... Le service était largement à la hauteur avec notre table dressée tous les soirs et un accueil chaleureux et attentionné ! Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié la présence du barbecue et du charbon de bois ce qui nous a permis de nous préparer de délicieux repas. Si vous n'êtes pas cuisinier dans l'âme, il est possible de commander les repas (diner et petits déjeuners) qui sont servis à domicile ! A l'accueil, des boissons diverses étaient à disposition ainsi que le WIFI (non disponible dans la maison) Nous avons également profité du domaine, notamment de la petite piscine (elle est très petite mais très agréable) située en haut du domaine à partir de laquelle nous avons admiré de magnifiques couchers de soleil ! Bref, tout était parfait ! N'oubliez pas le répulsif pour les moustiques pour la terrasse... pour la chambre, tout est prévu mais pour la terrasse et le domaine, répulsif fortement conseillé !

Exciting horse ride through the farmland!

Thank you to Frederick for being a super guide when my daughter and I had a wonderful 2 hour horse ride through the beautiful old plantation farmland, very exciting canter, nice and long and even came across baboons in trees near us (safe distance from us and horses thankfully!). Thank you to the lovely friendly Clotille for your patience when we couldn't find La Vieille Cheminee as we had arrived on the one big festival day of the year when the streets were packed! Super views, great experience, do wear mosquito repellant if you are prone to being bitten like we are.

Quiet and Peaceful Retreat.

Our stay at La Vielle Cheminee was the highlight of our trip to Mauritius this summer. We loved it from the moment we started along the palm-lined drive of the plantation! The welcome was professional, but warm, with time for a drink before we were shown to our cabin. Although the cabin had a rustic quality about it, we were blown away by the setting and attention to detail. In the "Perchoir" we felt as though we were in a tree house, looking out onto views of the plantaion, with the Rhumerie of Charamel in the distance. We had ordered a meal for the first night and it was waiting for us in the fridge, ready to be heated up whenever we wished. Both breakfast and dinner represented great value for money. The peace and quiet made this a wonderful place to relax - we also enjoyed walking up to the pool area for a change of scene.

Lieu très rustique, ce qui fait son charme. Ok pour une nuit pour nous qui sommes habitués à plus de confort. On ne se refait pas !. Acceuil très chaleureux. Je le recommande à ceux qui privilégient la nature, la randonnée ou la méditation. Robinson Crusoe aurait adoré
