"The staff worked very hard in every way. The hotel itself, probably due to age, needs attention re decor and sash windows which are draughty. I felt there were building restrictions making things difficult for updating. Dinner choices were excellent. "

"The hotel comprises a lovely old main house, to which a large block of more functional 70s/80s rooms are attached. The room was clean and well equipped, although a little dated. The staff were friendly and welcoming although we did have to wait a bit for someone to appear when we checked in around 7pm. Breakfast was very good, with food cooked to order and presented well. A great location for the village, canal and access for great walking in the hills. Would stay again and recommend."

"Really disappointed with my stay for the price. Really poor room, breakfast was awful and had to pay extra for parking - which i was emailed about the night before my stay and price stated (£6) was incorrect. I paid £7.40 for parking for less than 20 hours. "

"All change at the Buxton Crescent, so be careful what is and isn't included in your booking. Have stayed here many times B&B to take advantage of the Pools and to some extent, Spa facilities. After the takeover by Champneys, access to these is no longer included if you book through a third party or if you only book B&B with the hotel directly. Then there's a charge of £40pp to access pool and spa. Which seems steep to me. To access pool and spa within your booked price, you need to book dinner, and B&B directly with the hotel. Hope that's helpful. As a reminder, it remains a great hotel in a great location - which is why we've stayed several times before. May need to reconsider future occasions though."

"Room spacious and amenities were great. Had to book a slot for swimming. The menu for the bar/restaurant is limited and I personally wouldnt eat there again due to this. Both evenings friday / Saturday there was only one member of staff on the bar which caused delays so would have been better if they had more staff on but appreciate there was events on both nights. This does cause parking to become a nightmare. However overall the cleanliness of the room, how friendly staff are and proximity to the festival retail park means I would return."
