Fabulous location-walk out the door and 2 minutes later you’re at the main square. Tours pick up in the piazza outside the main door. Even being close to everything the apartment is quiet. Views from roof top are lovely. Peppa, who is there everyday, is super helpful and friendly. Breakfast is a variety of options. The room is large and air conditioned. Only small negative-the mattress is a bit lumpy. It probably needs to be flipped.

This was a truly nice experience for a lone traveler. Would be good for couples and groups traveling together as well. The room was nice and air conditioned. Peppa made wonderful breakfasts each morning and was very helpful with whatever opportunity presented itself. And, there were a few. The main terrace where breakfast is served is located with Mount Etna in the distance as the main focal point. The location is in a historic district of the city close to a couple large squares where live music is often performed at night, several café style restaurants with outside seating are everywhere, old catholic churches, the main drag, and the fish market. Catania is centrally located on the East coast of Sicily. So, several charming cities, points of interest, and beaches to choose from are within an hours drive. Parking is difficult but this inn does have a garage you can rent. Recommend traveling in a small vehicle. As parking spaces and many roads you'll travel are tiny. Also, once you arrive make it known you have arrived by calling them as you will not know where to go to check in. You'll be right next to it and not realize the big double wooden doors are the entrance. Peppa will greet you and provide you with the details you need to use three different keys to gain entrance. So, the place is not only unique but very secure. Overall, I enjoyed the stay and had i really nice time...Thank you for such a pleasant experience!!

The place was a great location for sightseeing and a charming spot. We really enjoyed the balcony and view. the room was comfortable with all the amenities. The breakfast was good. The only annoying fact was the toilette which often didn't flush. But I would still recommend this hotel

Location is close to the main square. Good breakfast and air-conditioned. A little road noise but the central location means you can’t avoid this. The property is on the top floor and our room had good outside space. Breakfast is outside with view of Etna. I would definitely stay again.

This is a completely beautiful B&B hotel. Th room was gorgeous - clean and spacious. Very nice breakfast. Pepe was super in providing lovely cappuccinos and making me welcome. The most wonderful thing about this hotel is the amazing roof terrace with spectacular views... a lovely place to spend the evening watching the sunset with a glass of Etna wine with Etna gently smouldering (whilst I was there) in the distance. Fabulous place.

We wanted to stay in the centre of Catania to see the city. The San Placido Inn was on the top floor of an old villa with a lift. The rooms were large spacious and airconditioned. Breakfast was very nice but best of all was the location. The terrace looked out on the Teatro Massimo opera house roof, Chiesa della Badia di Sant'Agata and the roof of the Basilica Cattedrale di Sant'Agata and best of all a magnificent view of Mt Etna. We were definitely in the center of Catania, a short walk to the Piazza del Duomo and the hop on hop off bus starting point was just around the corner. Our host was wonderful and our stay was even better than we could have hoped for.

Our rooms were just as pictured online. Everything was spotlessly clean, the breakfast area and terrace were delightful, with a clear view of nearby landmarks, including cathedral dome, and a straight-on view of Mt. Etna. Breakfast was more than expected, with egg, toast, local meats & cheese, yogurt, and warm, flaky chocolate croissants. Wi-fi connection was clear and consistent. Best of all was our friendly and helpful hostess, Pepa. She offered great suggestions for dining, shopping, and touring. She also arranged for a private driver and our ride back to the airport. We highly recommend the San Placido Inn!

Accogliente
