I cannot fault the hotel. It’s situated in a beautiful spot above Taormina called CastelMola. The hotel is stunningly rustic with jaw dropping views of Mount Etna and the surrounding mountains. The hotel staff were so helpful, kind and fun. The hotel has a great breakfast and is two mins walk from CastelMola village which has great shops and a few lovely restaurants. I am so glad we stayed here rather in the heart of Taormina. It was just perfect.

Situated in the beautiful village of Castlemola, this comfortable hotel offers unrivalled views of Mount Etna. Well worth getting a room with a balcony and mountain view. Breakfast was good and varied and the staff extremely accommodating. A few of our evening meals were taken at the nearby Caverna restaurant which is also owned by the hotel (with discount available for guests). A great walk down to Taormina was well worth the effort but keep an eye on the bus times as Taxis can be expensive. All in all, an absolutely delightful stay.

Die Lage und die Aussichten in alle Richtungen sind hervorragend. Im angrenzenden Restaurant arbeitet auch sehr hilfreiches Hotelpersonal, vertraut mit lokalen Weinen, das Essen ist ausgezeichnet. Das Hotel ist ideal, wenn man italienisch klassischen Stil liebt. Der Pool ist sauber, die Anlage eignet sich für Hochzeiten oder andere Feiern.

The hotel is about 20 minutes up a very steep and winding road above Taorimina so it's not convenient to go back and forth. The decor is dated, but the hotel has an old world charm and the setting is beautiful. The back of the hotel looks at Mount Etna and the wonderful pool faces it too. The breakfast was nice and had typical Sicilian pastries. They could update the decorations in the rooms and lobby.

A good spot above Taormina. Runs shuttle bus to the town. Rooms are OK. Our was a little run down with a loud grinding air conditioner, and a leaking faucet. The staff are very hard working both at the hotel and in the evening at the restaurant. Breakfasts are good, and the pool is very good. Good parking available across the street under ground. Easy access to Castelmolo by walking up some stairs.

Beautiful secluded hotel with views of Mt. Etna. More importantly, the staff was superb and extremely helpful. Breakfast was diversified and plentiful. It was also very convenient to have dinner in "La Caverna".This is a definite top 10 hotel in Italy! Stay here and you will not be disappointed!!!

O hotel e excllente, mas uma coisa eu fiquei chocado, no cafe da manha vc so pode tomar 1 ( um ) cafe, se quiser mais tem que pagar cafe extra. Ah cafe americano pode tomar a vontade, apenas cafe expresso ou cafe paga sobre tx, segundo os func. e porque custa caro.

We had a lovely stay at Villa Sonia. Could not recommend this hotel enough. The hotel was spotless, very large room (we booked the double with Etna views) Breakfast and hotel bar service was fab. Amazing location for exploring Castelmola and Taormina. A handy bus service operates throughout the day, just outside the hotel €3 return to Taormina centre (10/15 min journey) The hotel staff could not have been more friendly and really went out their way to make sure we had a good stay. Highly recommend the restaurant associated to the hotel a short walk up the road. A fabulous hotel for exploring the nearby sights or for relaxing and soaking up the sun (the pool area always had loungers free to use and was super clean/ tidy) Thanks for having us, we will most definitely be back! 😊

We stayed here for 2 nights and we wish we could have stayed longer. The view from our terrace was beautiful - it overlooked Mount Etna and the surrounding hills. Room was spacious and rustic, which made it feel authentic. All staff at the hotel were lovely and friendly. Breakfast was great and they had such a good choice of fresh food. The pool area was a nice touch - it was great getting in the pool after a long day in the sun. Would happily stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone!
