"I decided to do a quick trip to the mountains and thought it would be fun to check out the Dillard House. We went as a family to eat at the Dillard House often growing up. Their meals, served family style, offer delicious choices and it brought back a lot of great memories. I knew the property had recently been sold and was undergoing renovations. I was surprised to see the main restaurant facility was being completely renovated and not currently open. They did a good job of signage on the property to direct you to check in and to the restaurant currently open in their conference center. The food was still great, the staff was friendly and the room I stayed in was very clean, well furnished, albeit a bit dated but scheduled to be renovated, quiet, and very comfortable with a beautiful view of the horse pasture. I spoke with the F&B manager who said they should be back in the newly renovated restaurant by the fall and shared all the other plans for construction and redevelopment. I was also glad to hear a member of the Dillard family is still involved with the property. I will definitely go back to check it out after the renovations are completed. It's a great memory from childhood and glad to see it still being taken care of and made better for the future."

"Our stay here was delightful. We had a few hiccups with our room, but the owner had someone who was onsite and had it fixed within a few minutes, and this was at 8:30 P.M. after the office was closed. It is very convenient to downtown Brevard. The owner was very personable and wanted our stay to be a great experience! We will definitely be back. "

"Very clean. Bed and pillows are comfy. Breakfast is only continental but enough to hold you over until lunch. The only negative is that pets are alllowed in the eating area. "

"We enjoyed our stay and received great value for the accommodations. The staff checking in and checking out were great. The property is not as close to the check-in location as I thought but that was okay because it was situated in a very quiet place up on the mountain per se. My only negative is the amenities fee charged for my one-night stay in which I really cannot use. Check-in time is 4 and the pools, mini-golf, games, etc close at 5. By the time one checks in, drives to the unit and then has to drive back to the rec center it's almost 5. Check-out is at 10 and the place opens at 8 but I am not in a rush to go do those activities at 8 am. Would have been nice if the amenities were available until 7 or 8 at least. The price was right so the fee is not that much of a big deal other than I couldn't really use what I paid for."

"If you are visiting a child at Western Carolina University, this is the best hotel that we have stayed at. New and equidistant from the university and downtown Sylva. Easy access to Walmart or grocery stores if you need. Staff is always polite and the hotel is always clean."
