We had a couple hicups. The first room, the balcony door didn't lock. The moved us to another door and it was the same issue. They did dix it on the second room. Overall the stay was good. The staff was nice! Didn't care too much for the area of rhe hotel.

The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The first rooms we got were not up to the standards so we asked for better ones and they did relocated us. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. The swimming pools were clean and the fact that the hotel was close to the beach was great.

We chose this hotel to stay during a layover. Its proximity to the airport is a major bonus, but if you’re making Cartagena your destination, this area of town is really not the place to stay. There are much trendier and historic neighborhoods and there are other beaches that are prettier but overall for what it was the hotel had great staff, clean rooms and nice pools.

The hotel staff were kind and personable. The grounds were kept clean throughout my stay and despite being aged, the property is well-kept. Free buffet was bare minimum, just something to fill your belly. As an American who only speaks English, it was frustrating that the staff only speaks Spanish. I had to communicate with them via a translation app. The tv only played Spanish stations. The pamphlets in the room were all in Spanish. No one was there to explain which restaurants were open at certain times. Room service was not available at certain times. There was no one to offer information about excursions etc. The rooms were a little outdated, but clean and comfortable. The shower doesn’t have a full door, so the water just floods on the bathroom floor during your shower. The bed was comfortable enough. They charge you for the beverages and snacks in the room so use at your own risk. The hotel was close to the airport and the tourist attractions and that was a plus. Overall, I would not return to the hotel. I expected more from a Sonesta brand.
