「Amazing cost-benefit, you're in the heart of Salvador Carnival for the Barra-Ondina circuit. There are also good options to eat, very close to Shopping Barra, supermarkets, and drugstores. The hotel's structure is not the most modern or well maintained, but it is not an issue if you don't care about it. Also, be aware that depending on the floor, you may hear significant street noise.」

「 I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn other travelers. Hotel Portobello is advertised as a 4-star property, but based on my experience, it felt closer to a 1-star hotel. The facilities are outdated and in serious need of renovation. The rooms and common areas look worn down and poorly maintained, nothing like the photos shown online. 「The best thing about this place is the location: right in front of the beach, a lot of restaurants and bars right down the stairs, close to public transportation, grocery stores and to Shopping Barra. The staff here is phenomenal, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. The rooms and room furniture could use an upgrade.」
