"Ramiro was amazing and all the other staff members were so helpful and attentive! My husband and I stayed here for a portion of our honeymoon and it was very romantic. The staff know you by name and when we arrived immediately came up to our vehicle to greet us with umbrellas and escorted us to dinner. Our travels were delayed getting there, so Ramiro sent us the dinner menu and had our food being prepared as we arrived. It was truly magical! The natural pool, sauna, and walking trails felt like you were alone in the jungle. The room was gorgeous as well. Such an incredible stay!"

"You go here for the location. Communal areas. Rooms are basic but clean. Staff were welcoming and obliging but I found I had to ask for info sometimes that I would expect to have been told on check in. Food was fine. Nothing remarkable but good. The one thing I didn’t enjoy was the noise because there is no glass at the windows. This meant I was woken up by nearby families banging around or cleaning staff. Also the resort was a bit too family-facing for my preference. However it was easy to get a river taxi for all the tours from the village or directly from the Lodge for the tours Mawamba run themselves."

"This hotel is managed by an adorable husband and wife who were super friendly and helpful. Check in was a breeze. The cute details in the hallways and alcoves show how much they pour their hearts and souls into this place. The room was simple but had all of the amenities I needed for my stay. Coffee, tea and water are available in the lobby and there is also a shared kitchen space as well as a small garden terrace. Breakfast is included at an authentic Costa Rican soda about 2 blocks away."

"I am so thrilled we booked two days here. I was not certain about it but it is such a beautiful location. The “newish” owners are so kind and welcoming. Armando, the everything guy, was our favorite CR person! He was so kind and helped with my rudimentary Spanish. My kids loved it here as well. It is not luxury, so if that is what you are looking for, this is not your place. If a great value and beautiful location and good food is what you are looking for, I highly recommend. Cabin was clean and the fan kept it cool enough. Food was delicious. Pool is small but kids jumped in to cool off after a day of rafting on the Pacuare River. Exploring the massive property was a fun way to explore CR. We even saw a beautiful rainbow over the valley. Road to get there is a lot bumpy, curvy and hilly but worth the drive. I would not hesitate to stay here again! We loved our time here."
