We loved Skilpadvlei!

Loved our little family weekend getaway to Skilpadvlei! Comfortable rooms with all the amenities we needed. Stunning setting, beautiful lakes and birdlife. The chicken livers at the on-site restaurant are A MUST to try! Friendly and helpful staff and an overall wonderful experience. The pillows could be a bit softer though ;)

Gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis

Nach Ankunft war das Zimmer unzureichend gereinigt; es gab Motten. Nach einer Beschwerde wurden alle Probleme umgehend gelöst und wir erhielten als Entschädigung ein Weinpräsent. Das Personal war zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und opulent, das Restaurant stets gut besucht (auch von Einheimischen, was ein gutes Zeichen war). Die Anlage ist schön, könnte aber gepflegter sein.

Flot sted, flinke folk men meget larm

Fint sted og flotte udsigter - gode værelser. Men, men bør vide at man bor midt i kæmpe firma og familie fester - så det er ikke et sted til ro og fordybelse og maden bærer præg af “masse produktion”

A unique experience being amongst a vineyard with comfortable, tastefully decorated & clean rooms. The restaurant is conveniently located within a few steps & serves the most scrumptious food & has the most welcoming, friendly staff. The playground an absolute bonus for children. Unfortunately we were let down by the reception staff (one staff member) following a late check in that resulted in a delay in keys, we were left to locate our room on a large property & only to then realise we had been given a standard room although paid for a deluxe. Nevermind this being confirmed via phone call a few hours prior. Furthermore, no bedding for the cot or towel was provided for our infant booked in with us which was not ideal to discover at 11pm. We raised our concern at reception the next day, due to unavailability of deluxe rooms we were moved to another standard room that had a bath but it then took numerous requests to finally get the necessities delivered (cot, bedding, towel). Albeit, this was done through a defensive, unapologetic staff member who continued to show distaste towards us for the duration of our stay. For our last night, the manager apologised for our experience & explained that she had been away up until then, proceeding to offer us complimentary dinner for our last night's stay.
