We cannot remember having such a pleasant and relaxing break in such beautiful surroundings plus the staff were attentive, kind and professional. An excellent base for exploring the area and they also produce some excellent wines in their own vineyard.

The worst hotel we have ever stayed at.

When we arrived it was with incredulity that we were shown to our suite. The room was awful, dirty and lacking in most of the facilities promised. We could not wait to leave.

A perfect location!

Our stay stay at Holden Manz Country House was absolutely superb. It was just a pity we couldn't have stayed longer. The location is tranquil and beautiful, the staff super friendly and helpful and the accommodation clean, spacious and well equipped. The wine tasting is not to be missed either! This really is a gem of a find and we'd love to visit again for longer. It's a short drive into Franschoek which is lovely with many galleries and artisanal shops, good coffee shops and restaurants.

Stayed here 2/19/24 through 2/21. Location and property are absolutely beautiful, but unwalkable from downtown Franschhoek, so you'll need a rental car or us their recommended taxi service via Whatsapp if you plan to drink lots of wine. Uber was not reliable in this area. The staff were very nice and the breakfast options were good, but limited. I would highly recommend this location.

The most stunning location, property and hosts

We rented their upstairs suite for the night of and the night before our wedding. We were greeted by their wonderful team and shown around the property with a welcome drink. The property is so thoughtfully designed and the attention to detail to make your stay comfortable and luxurious, is second to none. Frank is an incredible manager and catered to every request. The breakfast, is hands-down the tastiest I have ever had, and would pay to return just for the breakfast! On my first night, the room had been turned down, gentle music playing and the lighting set to accommodate a peaceful and relaxing nights sleep. The location of Holden Manz itself, is one of Franschhoek's, best kept secrets. It really is a special part of the area. I can highly recommend their Hiro Rose and Chenin Blanc. This is a very special place and worth spending 2 or 3 nights if you can. I can't wait to return for an anniversary and see the wonderful staff again, drinks delicious wine and support this family run business. I love it and I know any future guests will do too!

I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights each under my name in November. In January the couple to use the 2nd room had to cancel. I contacted Expedia and Holden Manz and was told I could cancel but would get no refund due to the terms Holden Manz setup with Expedia. Those terms could only be found after booking and paying in full in November for the 2 nights in April. "We understand that sometimes plans fall through. We do not charge a cancel or change fee. When the property charges such fees in accordance with its own policies, the cost will be passed on to you. Holden Manz Country House charges the following cancellation and change fees. The room/unit type and rate selected are non-refundable. Should you change or cancel this reservation for any reason, your payment will not be refunded. No refunds will be issued for late check-in or early check-out. Stay extensions require a new reservation. Prices and hotel availability are not guaranteed until full payment is received.If you would like to book multiple rooms, you must use a different name for each room. Otherwise, the duplicate reservation will be canceled by the hotel." Based on those terms the 2nd room should have been cancelled when it was booked as both rooms were in my name. The guest reception manager told me if I had booked directly I could cancel 2-3 days before and get a full refund. The rate was not a "special" rate. In fact it was $586/night per room per day. Currently $183 Exp/$169direct

The facilities were top notch, great power shower. Rooms (suites) very spacious. Property had great character, extraordinary art displayed all over the hotel. Friendly, helpful service. Loved the fire in the bedrooms and lounge. The wine is great, love the Oak Chardonnay. Only negative is no restaurant, should you want an evening meal. Plenty of eateries in town though.

The team that work at Holden Manz were superb. They were helpful, informative and they made our stay. For this reason we would recommend others to stay. Sehr freundlicher und persönlicher Empfang. Das Haus und die Appartments sind großzügig und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich wohl und kann sofort entspannen. Most amazing stay of our lives!

This was with out a doubt the most amazing experience of our lives. We went there for a romantic getaway and the staff made us feel incredibly special from the moment we arrived. I had asked the staff to make the room special for the night and they did not disappoint, with champagne, flowers and candles throughout the room! When we arrived back from supper they had started a fire in our room, turned down our bed for us as well as provide us with a full weather report for the next day. We felt so spoilt! The breakfasts the following day are also really good, large tasty portions which is well presented and served to you. To top it all off, we received a bottle of wine as a goodbye gift. Thanks Holden Manz team for the incredible hospitality - we will be back for sure!
