Cape Byron State Conservation Area Tours

Heading over to the Lighthouse during blue hour before sunrise gives it a very different look compared to during the day. On this particular morning the clouds meant there was going to be no spectacular sunrise anyway so made the most of the situation.

If you are in Northeasterly New South Wales or Southeastern Queensland, Byron Bay offers a lot for such a tiny town. It's known as a major backpacker's stop for it's party/beach lifestyle. A big highlight to see here would be the Cape Byron Lighthouse which is the most easterly point of mainland Australia.

I highly recommend getting there before dawn and watching the sun rise. It is fascinating to hear the crashing waves in the complete dark and watching everything slowly light up as the sun rises. There is a quaint lighthouse in great shape with a mini-museum inside if you are into that kind of thing. Also, if you are trekking through between May and August, you may be able to catch a glimpse of humpback whales migrating.
