"We were running late to check in. The website says they close at 9 pm. We arrived right at 9. No one was there. The next day, the front desk person said they close at 8, then retracted and said he waited until 9 pm. That was not the case. I used the online chat to let them know we would arrive at the last minute - I was afraid of a language barrier on the phone. The front desk never picked up the chat. "Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in diesem einzigartigen Resort. Wegen der Nebensaison bekamen wir ein kostenloses Upgrade. Das Zimmer war geräumig, großzügig eingerichtet mit sehr bequemen Betten. Rund um die Gebäude gibt es verschiedene Wanderpfade. Das Resort produziert viele der im Restaurant verwendeten Zutaten selbst, alles ökologisch angebaut. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend, die Bar bietet einen herrlichen Blick auf den Golf von Nicoya."

"Excellent stay at Hideaway. The fanciest hotel in this area with a 2025 Michelin Key. Going to Tenorio volano national park was only a 2 min drive. The grounds of the hotel are spectacular. The hotel is nestled in the rainforest and has 2 private trails to rio celeste. We got a free upgrade to a rainforest view room. We also enjoyed a complimentary yoga class with an excellent yoga teacher and a complimentary night tour with a knowledgeable guide. The staff was very friendly. The only negative point is that the restaurant is quite expensive (200-250 USD for 2 suppers depending if you get drinks/appetizers/desserts) and the food was just okay. The breakfast was quite tasty though. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay very memorable."

"We enjoyed our stay at Arenal Kioro Hotel and appreciated several aspects of our experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which contributed to our overall relaxation. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home. One of the standout features was the impressive view of the volcano from our room, it truly enhanced our stay and created lasting memories."

"Our stay at Monteverde Lodge far exceeded expectations! The staff was very communicative in advance of our arrival for check-in timing and assisting with booking activities so that we could maximize our short stay in Monteverde. The property is pristine and rooms are luxurious; we were able to upgrade to an upper level Mountain Gem where the view from our balcony looked atop the cloud forest canopy teeming with wildlife; at one point, a group of koatis and capuchin monkeys were playing together in the trees and jumping on the rooftop of adjacent building right next to our room for a long time. The beds/linens were incredibly comfortable, the bathroom was huge with a walk-in closet for spreading out and there is excellent soundproofing between the rooms and the balcony doors so that you can rest quietly. The rooms also have very high ceilings for a cozy, cavernous feel. The guest atrium is a very beautifully decorated common space full of well-manicured plants and board games for downtime. The restaurant is very delicious too; the included breakfast was full of amazing choices with possibly the best French toast I have ever had.. and the lunch & dinner menus were amazing for the various diets in our group; truly fine-dining quality of ingredients and service/presentation. The lodge also allowed a late check-out without any issue when we had to rebook an activity that ran over by 1 hour, which was very accommodating. This place is truly excellent all-around."
